Personally , I can't answer that as I don't know . If we can knock trail cams by brand or model , etc , how much different is that than a bad experience with a crank on a crossbow ? Hopefully Burmjon will see this and have an answer .

I presently have Windows 8.1 and like it . I keep getting notices to update to Windows 10 . Does anyone have this ? Is it any better than Windows 8 or 8.1 ?

I havn't shot a buck in a couple years . Last year I put 2 does in the freezer . I shot was what available to me . I had more tags but no more opportunities . I take the deer for the freezer not for the antlers .

It wasn't my stand and it was on another person's property . I know it has been there for at least 3 years when I first saw it . A couple of new guys are hunting that area and wanted to hunt my SILs property also . She said NO . We had a thread about taking down someone's stand and leaving a note so I wonder if that is what these guys did . Because of the plastic bag on the support bar , I didn't think it had fallen and thought a note had been left . If that's the case , it appears that they did the right thing .

Walked my sister in laws property yesterday to see how wet the woods might be as it doesn't drain well . Saw a double treestand laying on the ground across the ditch from my SILs property . Some new guys are hunting there this coming year . It looks like it might have been removed and a note left with it .

There are certainly some shooters in that crowd in OPs post .

I checked 3 trail cams . One was mostly a guy with a Bush Hog making trails through a pond field and no deer on the card . Another had a spike posing for the camera . Realized when I got home that the date had reverted back to January 2010 . On the third was a nice buck . I was there last Thursday but since I visited my sister I checked the cams and walked the woods to see if they had dried up . Only saw one doe while walking . There was a snail on one camera lens and when I took the cover off of the Moultrie Lock Box , there was a toad sitting on top of the camera and it startled me . It was pretty funny .

Dual Pistol Registration

Does anyone do this with a relative ? I was told at a gun shop that I could fill out a form to have my son , who has a pistol permit , as a dual owner . The advantage of this is ..... if something happens to me , the dual owner would automatically become the sole owner and the government wouldn't get the pistols .

Good point Doc . I have accumulated a few "junk cameras" over the years . Tried to replace some of the internal batteries but they are soldered into to camera guts . I was liking the Primos CR Truth Cams but had 2 infested with ants . Easy to take apart . Cleaned out the webs , whatever and used the compressor to blow out the internals . Still couldn't get the cameras to turn on . Cheap Wildgame cameras may be the way to go but they don't take multi-shots . What I see on the cameras during the summer changes by fall as crops are harvested and the Deer movement changes .

Not a problem . I carry my hunting clothes in a sealed tote and put them on when I get to the place I am going to hunt .

I would think that a crossbow would be more effective than a compound . Easier to tweak the sight (scope) . Faster than a compound ... Stryker is 405 fps . Can be shot from a rest . Cocked until the trigger is pulled . Easy enough whereby a novice can shoot bullseyes in no time . What's with the "follow up shot" ? With the accuracy of a crossbow , it shouldn't be necessary .
