  1. The OP wasn't about reducing inventory . It was about getting an employee discount and selling to make a profit . If it was my store and someone did that , they would be looking for a new job . Unethical !
  2. No need for this caliber at all ....... Just a fun thing to shoot ( I guess ) .
  3. Welcome to Hunting NY .............
  4. They eat a lot of soybeans but at least they don't have a blah Tofu taste ! A farmer in Penfield called me last summer and asked if I would be interested in taking a doe out of his crop field . I jumped at the chance and got a nice doe . Took the pressure off for the upcoming Bow Season .
  5. I have always been under the impression that if you shoot does , the bucks will extend their range looking for doe . Seems like that would increase the odds of getting a buck when the time comes .
  6. Did you just come out of a coma ? There are 20 pages on a thread about this ...........
  7. No ..... It is done with center fire rifles prior to Archery Season .
  8. Well , to add fuel to the fire , my sons and I take doe during the summer with Crop Damage Permits . I got my foot in the door when a Farmer was interviewed on tv complaining out losing thousands of dollars in crops due to deer . Many hunters look down on this but the farmer doesn't get enough deer taken . There are a few other guys who also take deer off of the guys farm fields .
  9. Wondering how many stand or sit when shooting a deer with a bow . I practice both ways in the back yard and have a 10' ladder stand to shoot from . I have to stand to shoot at my 30 yard target as I have a cable from a tree to a post for my bird feeder and Bug Zapper . I would hit the line if I was sitting down . I place a bag target 20 from the stand yards and shoot sitting . If you can't shoot both ways , there is a chance of getting busted if you move when a deer approaches . Camo may help hide you but movement will get you busted !
  10. Maybe I could get some of you to sign your Anterless tags over to me and my sons ! Sure would like to fill up the freezer !
  11. I will be 74 this hunting season .... There is no way in hell that I wouldn't be out there on October 1st after a doe .
  12. When the deer is coming in and the bow can be drawn unnoticed ( deer passes some bushes , tree , had head down , etc ) .
  13. Remember when the wolves were introduced back into Yellowstone National Park about 20 years ago? There was a lot of debate about whether or not it was a good thing. I don't know your thoughts on this but have a look at this video clip. How often do we wonder, what the heck difference does one animal make in the greater scheme of things. Well, here is the answer!! Enjoy this amazing video on how just one animal has changed the environment. www.youtube.com/embed/ysa5OBhXz-Q?feature=player_embedded
  14. What is weird is the anterless only is Oct 1 - Oct 15 and Dec 14 - Dec 22 which means you can shoot a buck between Oct 16 and Dec 13 ....... hmmmmmmmm!
  15. I have several packages of burger and a few backstrap steaks ...........
  16. Roy Orbison , Hank Williams JR , Johnny Cash , Buddy Holly , Blonde
  17. I believe the activists don't believe in killing animals for food . They would rather buy it in the store where the meat is made !
  18. I saw it if if was something about Daiken ,,,, whatever in the Land Management forum
  19. Maybe I wasn't so smart after all . I put some pop in the fridge and the Refrigerator section doesn't cool . The freezer compartment works great . I have to wait until the guy I am buying it from gets home next Monday and see what he wants to do . I hauled it upright at about 35 mph in approximately 6 miles and it was a smooth ride so nothing should have been shaken up .
  20. We see a group of 6-10 gliding over the Furnaceville Cemetery quite often . When we walk over there I wonder if they are waiting for us to drop . Seeing them glide through the air is a beautiful sight but they are some ugly birds ! Had a group of 5 resting a couple houses down from ours a couple years ago .
  21. I have been butchering my own deer for quite a few years . After skinning and quartering , it still needs more cleaning before grinding , cutting and packaging . It has always been a problem keeping the meat cold and had to be done by moving all the stuff in the kitchen fridge . I was going to but a new fridge for the garage but the guy at the store said if the garage got around 50 - 55 degrees the new fridge would shut off and not turn back on due to the newer electronic technology . Anyway I bought a 10 cu ft fridge for $130 and it is in great condition . Now all I need is for Deer Season to get here .
