  1. Sorry about the big type . I was lazy and did a copy and paste .
  2. Life just gets better as you get older doesn’t it. I was in a Starbucks Coffee recently when my stomach started rumbling and I realized that I desperately needed to pass wind. The place was packed but the music was really loud so to get relief and reduce embarrassment I timed my releases to the beat of the music. After a couple of songs I started to feel much better. I finished my coffee and noticed that everyone was staring at me. I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my IPod. And how was your day? This is what happens when old people start using technology!
  3. You are lucky . It has to be a sweet deal to be able to get up and walk out to a stand . Whack a couple of those deer that are teasing you .
  4. I guess I will give Pittsford another try Saturday am as the farmer is harvesting beans in fields adjacent to my SILs property plus her field . All the equipment disrupts the deer travel . I will try to take better care of my phone this time ! Two weeks into the season and I havn't even had a shot yet but then again , the season wouldn't have started until the 15th or later a couple years ago . So , it's no big deal .
  5. I have done mid-day hunts in the past and the results vary . Instead of getting up at 4 am and driving 50 miles I would sleep until at least 7 am , and arrive at my spot around 11 am ant sit out until dark . Years ago , during gun season , I shot most of my deer between 9:30 - 10:30 am when gun hunters would get antsy and start moving either to get up and pee or go back to their vehicle to get coffee or something to eat . There havn't been as many the past few years . I will hunt from dark until 11- 11:30 am , take a long break and go back out . I get a terrible back ache from sitting for so long and I need a seat with a back rest for support . Too old to sit the whole day through .
  6. Yesterday was a very unproductive day . I was in a treestand in Pittsford by 6:10 am hu8nting with 2 of my sons . Watched the sun come up . Never saw a single deer . We left around 10:30 as one son had an appointment at a car dealer and I had promised to help my SIL in Geneseo put hay in her barn . I got about 12 miles away and reached for my phone . NO PHONE ! pulled over , checked the car and trailer ...... nuttin . Went back to where I had parked ....looked around walked back and forth to the stand and after 1 1/2 hours gave up . Drove the previous route and didn't see it along the road . Stopped at my son's house and called the wife to have her call Verison to disable the phone . Went to my SILs and took care of the hay . In the mean time my wife called my SIL to say that someone riding a bicycle found the phone and turned it in to Verizon at Eastview Mall . I must have laid the phone on the car or trailer and it fell off . Hunted at my SILs for a few hours and never saw any deer . The farmer was combining soy beans a couple fields over . Picked up the phone on the way home . The finder didn't leave a name or only info . At least I got the phone back . The rubberized case was damaged and I will have to replace that . Pretty much of a wasted day !
  7. Head on over to Villa Roma . They have deer roaming the grounds over there .
  8. As they say down state " Happy Birthday Youse Guys " !
  9. The buck in the 3rd pic looks like a keeper
  10. Except for one pic , the big guy seems to prefer night time
  11. What has happened in the past 20-30 years ? Camera and stands being stolen in the woods . Years ago you could leave the keys in the car with the windows down and it was safe . You were able to leave the garage door open with no worry about theft . Now , even if things are locked up , they aren't safe !
  12. Trail cams are fun . I take a regular camera along when I hunt and enjoy taking pics . Trail cams show what other activity is going on in the area ( tresspassers , etc ) . The horses , riders are okay for fox hunting but the ATV has a couple of tresspassers on it . The cat in the pic is a long way from any dwelling and the riders in the last pic don't belong there .
  13. I stopped at the Post Office . The gal there said the harness could be shipped in one of their Ty-vec bags and would make the trip for about $6.50 . I took a harness with me so she could check the weight . A couple harness' would fit in one of their if it fits , it ships Flate Rate boxes for about $12.50 .
  14. I make sure I have my "4-wheeler" tuned up before the hunting season and then test it out
  15. We humans have progressed with our hunting techniques and the deer have progressed also . I remember when I first started hunting from a treestand the deer never looked up . They have evolved and we need to keep a step ahead of them . We are hunting smarter than they did years ago . As for the video , I watched part of it and skipped over quite a bit . I thought the shooter was a jerk !
  16. Woodchuck --- I'll give you a 2 thumbs up on that !
  17. They don't seem to be camera shy either ........
  18. Camera is near where the deer jump the fence by a wild apple tree
  19. That's right . Move the sight not the rest . If you start moving the rest you could have clearance problems .
  20. What a ham ! He shot the deer , it ran off , why is he whispering ? I was told by a DEC guy one time that if you hunted over an apple tree it was okay but if you piled up those apples you were baiting .
  21. Shipping costs would probably be outrageous . I will check at the post office and see what it would cost and pm you . I am talking about the full harness that comes with the stands . If you need a ladder stand , why not just buy one and you would get a harness with it . Just a thought .
