I was in Penfield today and stopped by Beikirchs since I was fairly close . The place was mobbed . Parking lot was full and vehicles were parking on the lawn . Customers were backed up to the outer door . The gun shelves were less than 1/2 full . There wasn't anything I actually needed so I didn't hang around .

Just don't e-mail it !

Does anyone own one of these ? My oldest son wants to buy one for deer hunting . I looked up reviews on the gun and folks claim they are tack drivers but have many negative responses concerning the bolt doesn't stay locked down and some slugs will jam or won't extract .

I have seen one pheasant in the past 5 years . What beautiful birds . A club I belonged to used to buy birds and turn them loose . They didn't survive . With many hedgerows gone they lost a lot of cover . The fox and yotes would get them . A couple of the "helpers" who were releasing the birds were caught with guns and dogs while doing this ( so I had been told ) . I only ever went pheasant hunting twice . Got one my 2nd time out . Didn't care for the taste and never bothered to hunt them again .

Wouldn't it have been better to just PM Robinson rather than hammer away at him in posts ? One could have done that couldn't one !

Sounds like a plan !

I found that if I keep them a ways away from my eyes they don't fog up much . I try to expose them to the cold air so they are the same temp as the cold outside air but the heat from my face when I put them up to my eyes causes the fogging . I was wondering if there was / is a simple solution for the problem . I set them on the backpack rather than have them hang around my neck .

Speaking of Jim Beam ............. My wife asked me the other day, "At your age, what would you prefer to get - Parkinson's or Alzheimer's?" I answered, "Definitely Parkinson's. It's better to spill half an ounce of Jim Beam, than to forget where you keep the bottle!!"

I bought a set of Bushnell 7X15 Binos . I like the clarity and the ability to bring things in close . The only thing I don' t like is ...... when it's cold out , the heat from my face / eyes cause the lens' to fog up . Would Rain-X help or is there something else I could do to eliminate the problem ?

I would bet that half the members on hunting sites don't even know what "articulate" means !

Big Indian ----- If you want to be taken seriously , spell it right ! It isn't "serioulsy" !

I won't Boycott Dicks . They are still a great store and I buy most of my hunting supplies there . Galyan's , Dunhams and a few others are gone and Gander Mt is going downhill . No doubt the "Boycott'ers will be the Minority .

Larry --- Did he Bulldoze a trail to the neighbor's property ?

My wife has diagnosed me as being Passive Aggressive so I would probably think about doing some of the silly things members have posted to this thread . I often act on things , do something stupid and regret it later . Trying to correct this isn't easy . My sister in law doesn't get along with her neighbor and it has been this way for at least 25 years . When I see him out and about I make it a point to say Hi and have a conversation . I have his Cell phone # and he has mine . No doubt if I shot a deer and it ran onto his property , I would be able to recover it and if he had one run onto my SIL's property , I wouldn't mind . I just wouldn't say anything to my SIL . I made it a point be be friendly with the neighbor and it has paid off . Larry 1207 ....... I would suggest trying to be friendly with that neighbor and try to forget the deer recovery incident . Staying P.O.'d just adds stress to the body .

My Grammer was okay . My Grandpa was the problem !

They will receive a warm welcome and then a warmer GoodBye ! note: The above opinion is not necessarily the opinion of the site management but i'd bet it is !

Fast Eddie's Fables --- 2012 Edition

Thanks guys . I have several months to do some scouting , move stands , wash and store hunting clothes and get ready for another season . I also need to check out some new hunting ground . Now I will have time to install a youth stock on one of my rifles , do some reloading and clean up the man cave . I also need to rip some 2 X 4's and make some more target holders for the gun club . Maybe i'll even spend some time with the wife . She gets to be a widow 2 1/2 months out of the year . -
Sooooo , you have had a "moving experience" too ?

Drove down to Mendon / Pittsford spot this am . Another guy showed up a few minutes after I got there . We introduced ourselves to each other and stated where each of us would be . The fella told me he had lost 4 (four) deer this season . Wow ! Anyway I was in the stand around 6:45 and stayed until about 11:30 am . All I saw was 6 turkey ---- no deer . The other guy left just after 9 am . Rain is forecasted for most of tomorrow -- last day of hunting . I am done for the season . 287 days before Bow Season opens ! -
As Jerry Seinfeld would say , " Buh-Bye " !

As far as I know , a thread just gets locked when it gets out of control .

I havn't been out since Friday and hadn't seen anything all day . Going to give Mendon a try tomorrow morning . Pretty bummed out this season .
