    I spent a total of 8 hours between 2 different stands today . Saw a buck and a doe at 7:30 this morning . The buck milled around in the lower pasture lot for 15 minutes but never came to the pasture I was in . Left around 4 pm . I have to work tomorrow and needed to get my assignments plus I have to pick my wife up at the airport in a few minutes . Couldn't afford to be late on either plus my back was killing me . I left my ATV and trailer at my sister in law's to save on gas . Hauling it really cuts down my milage .

    Rain forecasted around 7 am and then clearing up . I hope I don't get soaked . Gotta leave in a few minutes .

    I have made the mistake of expecting a deer to drop its body to spring away only to have them not react and do the expected . They don't always follow the deer rules !

    I went to a wedding in Perry today and then to the reception in Henrietta . Checked the mail and I had a letter from the DEC with their sighting log enclosed . It's different from past years and now you put in the date instead of it being already on the form .

    I use the Lee hand primer . It comes with 2 different size discs for large and small primers . Make sure you have shell holders for the caliber you are reloading . As for the digital scale , I buy a pack of 8 batteries for $1 at the dollar store and they work fine .

    I had been doing sightings for the DEC for over 10 years and they sent me a couple of patches . I havn't heard anything from them this year . It has always been done during bow season .

    Bob Foulkrod ( one of the Big Game gurus ) gave a talk at a Sportsmen's dinner in Rochester a few years ago . He advised using "cut on contact" broadheads for any poundage under 55 lbs .

    For polishing , I use the corncob media with a little bit of Flitz polish in it . Works for me .

    I had some 44 mag reloads that required disassembly and put them in the Dud box at the range . Had to wait 3 months for RCBS to get off their ass and send any bullet pullers to the store . I have had it for a year and havn't opened the package yet as I havn't needed it . If I didn't have one , I would neeed the darned thing !

    My father in law got me started deer hunting and my wife has never given me any crap about it . She is in San Diego this week and going to our time share in Williamsburg , Va for a week during gun season . We have been married for 50 years and learned to work things out long ago . Dayum , it's quiet here !

    The Electric grinder is the way to go . I bought a big ass grinder at BassPro several years ago and used it for about 4 deer . Bought an electric grinder far a bit more . Using the hand grinder didn't tire me out . It just took longer to grind .

    I saw a show where Dan Fitz used the platform of a chain-on stand as a grill to cook burgers on . Always enjoyed their shows .
