Too few people think anout removing the Tree Steps at the end of the season and think they will last forever . One of my son's had one snap on him climbing up a tree . Luckily he didn't fall .

I went down to a friend's property in Walworth and sat out for 4 hours . Didn't see any deer and no tracks where they had been traveling through earlier in the year . Saw a couple of horse riders . They started to come my way until they saw the posted sign and did a 180 degree turn and headed south . On the drive home I saw at least 3 deer feeding in a field on Swadling Road where I used to shoot woodchucks for a farmer . Posting some pics from the stand and a shot of the bow holder .

Soooooooooo , what's happening with the Youth Hunt ?

I exaggerated about any motion sickness . The wind would occasionally pick up and rock the trees but not all that bad . What was going through my mind was , " with the wind blowing , how much effect would it have on the arrow flight " ? I think I was over thinking !

A guy that was a year ahead om me in school used to hunt squirrels for food with a 306 cal rifle . He would shoot them when they were on the tree trunk by barking them ( hitting the tree next to their head ) . He would then walk over pick them up and wring their neck . It was the only gun the family had .

I have seen plenty of squirrels this past week in Geneseo and Groveland while bow hunting . The little Varmints are out all day long . In 18 years of bow hunting I have only encountered one squirrel hunter . I'm guessing not many people hunt them but I really don't know that for sure .

Funny story Phade . Good job putting the deer out of it's misery .

Early -- I guess you don't consider your numerous negative views on most of your posts as whining . I got news for you . You're whining . I started bow hunting in 1994 and have only ever encountered 1 ( one ) small game hunter in all the years I have bow hunted . As for the Youth Hunters , I don't care that they are out there . I put on some Blaze Orange and get in my treestand and hope that they will drive the deer to me . Now , quit your whining !

No it's not . With reasonable hearing you can pinpoint where a shot or shots came from . And there certainly is a different sound coming from a 20 gauge versus a 12 . At a very great distance it would be a but harder to tell .

It sure wasn't a 22 and not rifle shots either . A lot of the farmers have ponds so I thought possible geese . Also a lot of corn fields have been cut .

Drove to Groveland to hut at my niece's house ( it had been my mother's ) . It was a light sprinkle . I was in the stand by 6:30 and took an umbrella with me . It continued to sprinkle for some time . I stayed in the stand until 11 am and never saw any deer . Heard a heck load of shots in the am . Seemed like too many for target practice and wondering if it may have been goose hunters . Went to the house and visited with my niece . Went back to the stand at 1:30 and sat until 5:30 . It was windy off and on and I should have taken some Dramamine with me ( motion sickness ) j/k . As I was heading home I saw 3 deer feeding in a field about 6 miles from where I had been hunting . Stopped off in Lima and picked up the Trail Cam I won in the QDMA drawing last month so the day wasn't a complete waste .

This morning I was in Groveland . I heard some shots , then more and more . Over 70 shots were fired in a 1 1/2 hour period . The sounds were west of me and a ways off . Too many for target practice . Is it possible that goose hunters might be having a field day ?

I hunted in a light rain this am . As luck would have it , I saw nothing .

A mother and her two fawns came by my stand in south Bristol . I gave them a pass . I had just peed from the ladder stand . The button buck came over to the ladder and sniffed . I was using a Bino-cam with a fixed 5X focus so the BBs pic is blurry .

A possible frost is forecasted for Monday am . The kiddies better be wearing their long johns .
