    New bow

Congrats on your new bow . Nice looking . Teah , bows have changed a lot since your last purchase . Most have seemed to go to the parallel limbs .......
  2. I have a Parker phoenix EZ-Draw bow set up at 28 " - 70# draw and a Ben Pearson setup at 28" - 62# draw . I am shooting 430 grain arrows which includes the 100 grain Rage expandables . They seem to do the trick . The lighter arrows are faster but I would rather hear the "thwack" from the heavier arrow than the "Blip" from the lighter arrow . My youngest son shoots a 800+ grain arrow with a single bevel cut on contact fixed blade . Those babies make a real thump when they hit the target .
  3. I bet there was a number of deer that weren't reported and that's only an opinion .......
  4. I had never heard of Wildblue ........
  5. Big Mortie and his handsome brother shoot chucks with 30-30's
  6. If there wasn't any disagreeing , it would be pretty dull here .
  7. I have never heard anything negative on any of the magnus broadheads . I have never shot any of them either .
  8. I don't think anyone said that . A 12 year old should be supervised while hunting . My take on a 12 year old being able to archery hunt is that the child should be able to draw and shoot a bow that is of legal poundage in order to hunt or be certified . I am betting a high percentage cannot . You would also limit the distance of the shot with a 35" draw . Other than that , I don't care except .......... don't push the kid into hunting just because Daddy wants them to . It will turn the kid off real quick .
  9. If the cost of living keeps going up and the Medicare costs continue to increase , i'll never be able to afford that PSE Tac 15 X-bow !!! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/pissed.gif[/img]...http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/pissed.gif[/img].http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/pissed.gif[/img]..
  10. It might be a fake but here is a pic of a friend's, girlfriend's , cousin's , uncles , brorher's buck .
  11. The Oneida Eagle bows were fabricated around Syracuse many years ago . I had bought a used one and my wife accidently screwed it up as she didn't know it was stored an a bad place . http://www.oneidabows.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1696
  12. Can we keep this thread going until Gun / X-bow Season ?
  13. Help me out . Where does it say you cannot use an Auto-Cocker on a X-bow in the new regs . I must have missed that . http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/68802.html
  14. I went to the show they had a few months ago . There wasn't much there .
  15. A QDM report from $ QDM Co-Ops in Yates County Co-op Members, Attached is observation summary information from all four individual QDM Co-ops within the county along with a county total. The highlights: · There were nearly 4,100 total observation hours · More than 1 in 4 of the antlered bucks observed were 2.5 years old or older (1 in 3 within the Italy Valley Co-op) · A total of over 4.600 deer were observed · The adult doe:buck ratio was 1.76 does observed for every antlered buck · The fawn recruitment rate of .79 fawn for each adult doe observed was nearly on the estimated western NY rate of .80. Almost time for some serious shed hunting – good luck! John
  16. I guess i should take an Atomic Clock along when I go hunting ! : ... : ... :
  17. so what does it matter how it is cocked? i thought your biggest issue was that it is ALREADY cocked when game approaches? ??? ??? ?hey i'm as strong as an OX, wether i kill a deer with a 100lb compound bow or a crossbow that is auto cocked whats the differance, do i have to prove my strenght to anyone when i hunt, is that what this is all about, you gotta have big enough muscles, ROTFLMAO!!!!! Maybe if you would quit rolling on the floor you wouldn't smell like an Ox . Are you just looking far an argument ? Folks were talking about bringing 12 year olds into hunting . Many of them cannot draw a Vertical Bow or pull the string back on a X-Bow so this system would help them . It allows the bow to be cocked and un-cocked with ease . What part of making it easier for someone don't you understand .?. It will be a big help to handicapped and disabled people also .
  18. Some of the latest technology in X-bows ...... Even a 12 year old could cock this http://www.bowhunterssuperstore.com/parker-2011-concorde-1753-package-multi-reticle-scope-p-1867964.html
  19. When I used to hunt with my father in law on Gibsonville between Leicester and Perry , we would hear shooting while it was still dark . One morning I was sitting in the car finishing my coffee before daylight . I car pulled up behind me and a fellow got out and approached my car . I rolled down the window and it was a DEC officer . He asked if I had a gun in the car and I told him it was laying on the back seat , empty with the chamer open . He shined the light on it and said okay . Then he said there had been shooting quite early the previous morning and I told him I had heard it . I said he could check my shotgun if he wanted as it hadn't been fifed . He declined and told me to be safe and have a good day . That is the only time in 45 years that I have met a DEC officer while hunting . I agree with the 5 minutes bit but I always hope that no deer comes within shooting distance until legal time . ???
  20. It's an oldie but I laugh every time I read it ! ;D .. ;D .. ;D
  21. This is what we get for helping others ............
  22. We have no business in Lybia and shouldn't have gotten involved or put any of our troops in harm's way . We have now pee'd away a few more million dollars in missiles , etc .. Even if it's left up to NATO , we pay most of the bill there also .
