Many of the farmers (that don't have chickens) don't want the fox hunted as they help control the woodchuck population .

Can't remember where I saw it but the Adiroundacks got hit pretty hard and they figured the deep snow would have an adverse effect on the deer herd .

Good post Wooly . My wife and kids camped a lot so we spent a lot of time outdoors . I never pushed my sons into hunting but 2 out of 3 hunt and my son bought hunting property in Italy Valley . He has turned into a venison hog , has some great recipes and has made his own sausage , etc .. My dad took me woodchuck hunting with him twice when I was a kid . That is the only time I ever remember him hunting . He let me take his 22 out when I was 12 and I scoured the countryside shooting chucks . The farmers more than welcomed my presence on their property in Groveland . I am pretty much self taught . My father in law got me started deer hunting when I was 23 years old . We would spend a week together hunting . When he quit , I stopped hunting for a few years and my sister in law asked me if I wanted to hunt with her on some property she purchased in Geneseo . I then got my son in law to start hunting again . Got a couple other folks started hunting but found that a lot of folks just don't care to hunt . I think I have gotten "off topic" .......must be the old age thing !

I took the picture with that exposure to capture the color of the sky. If I wanted it over exposed, I would have set the camera that way. Soooooo , you need a telephoto lens for the sunrise ? I have a Bohning Lynx 6 arrow quiver . They also have the Bohning Lynx 4 arrow quiver . The things I like about it are ; it's flexible (takes up any shock) , it grasps the arrow in two places and it is easily detachable .

When that was posted on another site , the license plate was blacked out .

Dayum Burt , I have mixed feelings on this . I can just see a parent demanding that the kid wear a harness while he doesn't wear one . Preach safety and then not follow it . It makes me think of the bicyclists where you see a mom or dad riding with the kids . The kids wear helmets but the parent doesn't . DUMB !!! I was always told to lead by example .......

I've never had to drag anything that heavy . Bought an ATV a couple years ago . I think I could handle it now . Awesome buck . Congrats !

Those tent caterpillers really mess up a tree . I had tried spraying our crab apple tree but it didn't help much . I fastened a bernzomatic torch to a pole and burned up the nest and then anything crawling . You could hear the little ba$tards screaming !!!
