  1. Yeah , but at least it's creating some activity on the site .......
  2. The only way I ever heard of to get rid of Cluster Flies is to fumigate the place . Here is what I found by searching ........... Eliminating Cluster Flies Cluster flies, face flies and blow flies are difficult to control once they have gained access to homes because they hibernate in wall voids and other inaccessible places. [*]Exclusion: Close and seal as many openings as possible through which the flies can enter. This procedure is time consuming and may require a dedicated long term effort. Window screens offer no protection from Cluster flies because they crawl into the home through small openings in the walls of the building. These same overwintering flies get into rooms during the winter and spring months entering through window pulley holes, around the baseboards and through other small openings in walls. A thorough inspection for locating and eliminating all possible entry points is a must, but will not guarantee success. For best control, use chemical sprays with your exclusion methods. [*]Surface Spray: Use a compressed air sprayer (Chapin Sprayer) to apply a surface spray to surfaces in attics, basements, closets, store rooms and other areas where the flies congregate. These sprays also are effective if applied to the outside of the house in the fall when the flies collect in these areas before entering the home. Pay special attention to the areas beneath the eaves and around the windows and other areas where flies are likely to seek entry. [*]Crack and Crevice Treatment: Using a pyrethrin aerosol for treating cracks and crevices will compliment your surface spray. This method is only necessary if there are areas to be treated that you cannot properly treat with a surface spray.
  3. New York The Governor Elect of New York is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out, bites the Governor, and attacks his dog. 1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi", then realizes he should stop, the coyote is only doing what's natural. 2. He calls Animal Control. Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the state $200 for testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it. 3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the state $200 for testing it for disease. 4. The Governor goes to a hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for disease from the coyote and for getting his bite wound bandaged. 5. The running trail is shut down for 6 months, while Fish & Game conducts their $100,000 survey to make sure the area is free of dangerous animals. 6. The Governor next spends $150,000 in state funds, implementing a "Coyote Awareness" program for residents of the area. 7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease, throughout the world. 8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not somehow stopping the attack and for letting the Governor attempt to intervene. 9. Additional cost to State of New York: $175,000 to hire and train a new security agent with additional special training re: The Nature of Coyotes. 10. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files suit against the state. Arizona The Governor of Arizona is jogging, with her dog, along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks her dog. 1. The Governor shoots the coyote with her state-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow-point cartridge. 2. Arizona buzzards eat the dead coyote. And that, my friends, is why New York is broke
  4. there still beatin the horse in PA. Isn't beating a horse the LAw . Not if you beat it with a whisky flask ! : ... ???
  5. We have talked about this before and these "Pros" hunt the deer ranches where the guide has the stands set up for the shooter and the camera man . I have met Bob foulkrod before . Talk about egotistical !!! Some of those "tough hunts" are done from elevated stands overlooking a huge food plot . The tough part was probably keeping the coffee warm .
  6. My vote is Yotes . Those damned things will start eating their prey when it is still alive .
  7. Here are a couple of the stragglers from this morning ..........
  8. Drove to Geneseo this am and was in the blind by 6:20 am . There was about 3" of snow on the ground . I saw 3 doe run across the field to the west of my position at 7:03 . Thought maybe some hunters spooked them . They were too far for me with the ML but if I had been sitting in my sister in laws stand . I would have had about a 60 yard shot . At 7:33 I saw movement through the trees in that same field and 5 more slick heads went down the field heading north . I hadn't heard much of any shooting all morning long . Didn't see anything else and at 11 I took a walk down the laneway and half way to the woods . Saw very few tracks heading east / west . It was 31 degrees this am with a "really feel " temp of 13 degrees . I walked across the north end of the field that the deer had gone through but never saw any tracks . I walked across the field and never saw any tracks of the 8 deer that I had seen much earlier . The wind had drifted the snow and covered them up . I called it quits at 12:30 and headed for Groveland. When I got to my Mother's house , I figured I would get warm and visit before heading to a stand . At 3 pm I told her I was going to get my gear and head for the woods . Stepped outside and there was a strong wind blowing from the west which would be detrimental to hunting from my stand . I figured the cold wind had beaten me today and said nuts to it and went back in the house . Here is some video of the area I hunt in Geneseo http://s271.photobucket.com/albums/jj146/parker-bows/Forum%20Stuff/?action=view&current=GeneseoHuntingSpot.mp4

  14. I went into the Dick's in Webster . Bought a pair of Gortex Boots , 6 pair of WigWam socks and a set of flashlights . I had a $25 coupon . What I purchased had been on sale and again reduced . The bill came to $114.96 . Used the coupon and my Gift Cards . Now I only have $13.62 left on a gift card . Woe is me ! ;D
  15. Wow ! 475 pound hog . Lucky he could tow it and get some help hanging that big thing ! Read the article . The hog was coming at the guy who shot it with his 12 ga .
  16. I'll give it a try again tomorrow . With it being Saturday , maybe some hunters will be out and getting the deer to move . I can hunt any time during the week but ..... not seeing anything until it is almost dark . Gets pretty boring sitting in a blind for a long time . I have the blind by a fence next to a pasture and bare crop field . Beyond the crop field is a very went thik area that doesn't drain and then a woods that has water about shin deep ( or more ) . Soooooo , walking / stalking doesn't work here . Therefore , it's the boring blind !
  17. I think I saw one in Tom's Original Bar & Grill on Route 104 nere in Ontario . Other than that , some folks have reported seeing feral hogs in the Southern-Tier near the Pennsylvania border .
  18. Let's not start this crap all over again ! There are a couple of threads on the site with several pages of for and against . Check them out .
  19. I really don't care what's legal or not legal about having booze in a person's possession while hunting . I won't hunt with someone who carries or drinks booze when they are out hunting .
  20. Dick's has a coupon for $25 off any boots that are $89.99 or more . They have the Rocky's Sport Utility Max boots on sale for $89.98 and they don't fall into the category of the coupon price as they miss it by one cent . Now that sucks !!!
  21. Welcome to Hunting NY ........
  22. I haerd a lot of shooting opening day in Geneseo . Kinda hard to relate to your situation since you list being in the United States . A bit difficult to help sometimes when folks post Upstate , Western NY , Central NY , etc .. Makes me wonder if they are ashamed of where they are from ! :
  23. What's the big deal . Someone didn't know all the rules & regs and get chasized (sp) for that . I think he is straightened out and I hope is is able to get a tag signed over to him and scores a doe . And all the time I thought I was the thorn on this site ........ ??? . Cut the guy some slack . At least he's not posting about crossbows ! ')'>http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/picker.gif[/img]
