    I have used the plastic buckets and tripod chairs but I stay on stand for a long time and need a backrest so the folding chairs or cheap plastic deck chairs are what I need to use .

    I hunt in the rain and snow and with the baloon , I don't have to worry about moisture in the barrel and the the powder getting damp / wet .

    I got rid of my Chevy S10 and bought a Subaru Forester . Bought a trailer for the ATV . I use that trailer to haul my deer . The drag on it cuts down the gas milage on a day's hunting trip but it sure works fine for me .

    They have been practicing QDM in Italy Valley between Naples and Potter for over 3 years now . Several property owners have joined . They are seeing more and more larger bucks since they started the program . One of my sons has property there that is adjacent to State Land . I don't deer hunt there since it is too hilly and slippery for me .

    I like Treestands for their visibility . It's going to be windy tomorrow so I think I will hunt from the ground . I have a spot in mind over looking a pasture lot .

    The one that used to get me is , "Did you catch a deer yet" ? : ... : ... : I'd tell them that I shot one with the bow / gun but I didn't catch any . ???

    My son installed one in his barn but he didn't use the battery winch . He bought the electric plug in winch at Harbor Freight .

    DENIAL is not a river in Egypt . If you need to take a drink because your cold is a poor excuse . I hope the guy isn't a Heavy Equipment Operator working out in the cold !

    There was an article in the Livingston County News about a woman who had shot a big buck in NY plus a bear & elk in Canada . http://thelcn.com/blog/2010/11/11/dead-deer-never-a-beauty/ Another woman did a follow up and complained about the killing of an innocent animal .     Fletch , I didn't want to go through 5 pages to look but , what does the area look like "out behind the house " ? I know I used to hunt way out on my sister in law's pproperty and got deer but with all the rain it is like a swamp / marsh . The deer have been running closer to the house and barn which is what hunter's wouldn't expect . They have crossed the field within 30 yards of her house .

    I ended up with 52 pounds of boneless meat from that gal . She had a heck of a lot of fat on her back and behind .

    They sound like the type of hunters to stay away from . If you have other places to hunt , you should try them and not be near these guys . The object of knowing where you and other hunters are supposed to be is an excellent and safe idea if all follow the rules and go to their spots .

    In today's Roch D&C there is an article about a hunter (Michael Haffly -58 ) found dead in Murray NY . It said his body was found near a treestand .
