I took my bow out to the back yard this am as I had changed the string loop . It was a bit nippy and I was wearing just a t-shirt so I kinda hurried up . My 1st arrow was dead on at 20 yards with the 3D . My 2nd shot did a "Scott Norwood" and went wide right . I nocked a 3rd arrow and it jumped on the arm of my Trophy Ridge Drop Zone rest and against the riser . What the hey !!! I tried a couple other arrows and they would jump also so I didn't shoot them . I put an arrow on the string and pulled the cord for the rest . It raised the arrow just fine . I guess I must have had a brain fart ! I knocked another arrow and drew back slow and no problemo . Apparently , in my haste , I was jerking the string causing the arrow to jump . Like Mama said , "stupid is as stupid does" . I went out this afternoon to shoot and didn't have any problems and was dressed for the weather . Sometimes I tend to overthink a problem and have it end up being a simple solution !

I had set a Moultrie IR-40 up in our back yard when we went to Cancun last spring . When I got home there was over 800 pics on the SD card . Just a bunch of pics of the back patio . I noticed a very small limb with a couple of leaves . It was just enough to trip the camera many many times .........

I tried different editing and I don't see anything that looks like any animal in the Trail cam Photo .

I got the same thing as CCHC . Something might have passed be and triggered the camera .

I believe the rip-offs were from people using their Debit Card . I always use cash at Aldi's ....

I see where rain is forecasted between 6 & 8 am Saturday in the Naples area . Then it shows Cloudy .

Does anyone else take spare gear along when they hunt ? I keep my release , armguard , quiver in the bowcase with my bow but ...... I have an extra release and armguard buried in the bottom of my backpack . I had my sister in law's neighbor's dog spoil my hunt . My sister in law told the neighbor to keep her dog across the road on their property but apparently they can't control the dog . I am not about to shoot it even though I had considered doing just that .

Guys that break the law on a regular basis often don't get caught . Someone who does it the 1st time usually gets nabbed . He wasn't going to take any chances even with so few DEC officers around . All it would have taken was to run into another hunter and have no tag or have the opportunity to shoot a deer and not be able to tag it . He did the right thing . Don't forget to have your license Saturday .........

Most cameras have a relatively slow trigger speed . When a deer goes by , you might just catch the tail end .

I was shooting woodchucks for a farmer in Walworth a few yaers ago . He told me to also shoot any cats I saw because they were Feral . I never shot any as I had no way to tell if it was wild and certainly didn't want to shoot someone's pet . I know that my mother's cat used to hunt several hundred yards from her house so just because they are a distance from a resident doesn't mean they are wild .

I bought one of these presses and had only used it once . I had a new string put on my bow a few months ago and the peep had rotated slightly . I had compensated for that but it finally got to be a nuisance so I broke out the Portable Bow Press . Backed the limb bolts out 4 turns each , applied the press , rotated the string 1/2 turn , removed press and tightened limb bolts 4 turns each . Simple to use and it corrected my problem .

Everyone is getting their gear ready for the Southern Zone Bow Opener . Whatever you do , DON'T forget your Hunting License and permits . A friend of mine just gun hunted and we drove to Geneseo . It's a 50 mile drive . We got our gear out and I asked him where his Back Tag was and he gave me the "oh sha-zit" look . He wasn't going to break the law so he sacked out in my truck . I didn't have any luck that day but I took my time and let him suffer . I have two totes packed . One with clothes and one with my backpack & my HSS . I gotta get the bowcase and quiver ready to go .

I enjoy seeing the pics of what has been around and passed through the area . I had a camera up on a friend's area but others that could hunt the area messed up the area . I had gotten a few pics of does and one of a buck that I never showed them . Two of the guys parked the ATV right in front of the camera . It was a waste to hang the camera on that property .

The music was irritating as all hell ! I held off on turning the volume off as I thought there might be some audio narration but ........ there wasn't any .
