  1. bpb ------ Those dumbasses were not shooting at the berm . They were just having fun at the expense of putting others in danger . The berm could have been 30 feet high and it wouldn't have mattered . They were not shooting from the bench area . They were out onto the range .
  2. Good idea . I think we should be a bit selective on language used on the site .
  3. I have a regular cell phone ....... I never had an Android but in the past I have had hemorroids ! ???
  4. How about a Red circle around a crossbow with a slash through the circle ! : .. .. ..
  5. The Ontario Rod & Gun Club range was shut down for rifles , pistols and slug guns for about 1 year . A homeowner who resides on Putnam Road (about 1 mile morth of the range) was playing catch with his daughter . A 3 year old was running around in the yard . They never had any fear when they heard gun shots as it was a common occurance . Early one evening , the home owner said he heard a "pfffffftttttt" and a noise like someone threw a stone at the pool . He looked and saw water coming out of a hole in his pool . He took the kids in the house and put them in the basement and called 911 to report what happened . They told him to wait at the house and he said Bulls--t , they're still shooting . When he got to the range , two a-holes were shooting AR-15's John wayne style and spraying the woods . The guy laid on his horn but they were wearing ear protection . He got out and ran toward the closest guy waving his arms . The guy stopped shooting and waved to his buddy . A trooper showed up as well as the President of the club . They all drove over to the house on Putnam . The home owner pulled the cover back off the pool , climbed in and gave the bullet to the Trooper . One of the shooters said he would pay to have the damage repaired as his family runs a restaurant / bar on Lake Road in Webster . Then this piece of crap backed out and told the homeowner that it was the Club's problem . A real classy guy !!! > .. > .. > The guy had his membership revoked and neither one is welcome back . We all had to go through a safety certification in order to use the range after that . Anyway , the two shooters had shot over the top of a high berm , through a large wooed area and managed to put a hole in a swimming pool almost one mile away . Oh yeah , they said each of them had fired 2 1/2 thirty round clips . There were 2 holes in the target at the berm . All they got was a slap on the wrist ! > .. > .. >
  6. My son was quite happy with the reloads that I did for his 270 . He bought some extra powder , primers and bullets at Beikirch's as a lot of the reloading supplies has become scarce . I used the full size die and the rounds are grouping fine a hit a tad higher than the Factory loads . That report made me feel good !
  7. I had always purchased a Super sportsman's license with the archery , muzzleloader , etc . The Lifetime License is only a Sportsman's License so I still have to pay for the Archery , Muzzle loader and extras . I don't have to pay the $10 fee to apply for doe tags . Wow !!! It's still a good deal .
  8. Great pics . That must have been an exhilarating experience ......
  9. The HSS ( hunter safety system ) is quite comfortable but it has a bit of weight due to the buckles . The vest keeps your shirt / jacket close to your body . Yes , it's a bit pricy but cheaper than a wheelchair . IF folks don't want to use them , that's their business . I would just like to see people be safe .
  10. Make the buck and bedded doe a bit smaller and the sillouette of NY in the middle . Then you will have room for some birds .......
  11. Last year two young men were hunting with a group that was doing a deer drive in the town of Arcadia . They had seen several deer in an open field and fired a number of shots toward a trailer park . One round entered an occupied modular home in the park. The slug went through an exterior wall and came to rest in the master bedroom . Both hunters were arrested and released and scheduled to return to court at a later date . This was done with a shotgun . I wonder how much worse it may have been with a rifle .........
  12. " I don't know " either . I havn't heard of many accidental shootings with rifles . There have been a few erratic shots going into home . Two year's a go , a hunter was shooting at a deer north of Rt 104 in Ontario , NY . He fired a few shots at a deer that was running south of him . The hunter shot a hole through the front window of Phil's Automotive Shop that is on the south side of Rt 104 so the slug (shotgun) traveled across 4 lanes of traffic and uphill . Phil's son , Mike had walked past the window a few seconds earlier . The slug passed through a couple of thin walls , hit a steel beam and dropped . The shooter was arrested . Phil standing next to one of the slug holes .........
  13. Uhhhhhhhh , if you get a Robin Hood outside the Bolls-eye , does it count as 2 bad shots ? : .. .. ..
  14. A large platform won't necessarily keep you safe . When that adrenaline rush comes , folks do strange things like forgetting they are 6 - 20 feet in the air . A hunter takes a step or leans to get a better shot and tumbles out . Not a good thing ! I stay in a stand most of the day and sometimes nod off . I have never come close to falling out (that I know of) and don't plan to let it happen .
  15. I have gotten 3 so far .now when the groups tighten up , I go to shooting dots !
  16. I have to leave my quiver on when I hunt with the Parker as it is a 2 piece so it fastens at the top and bottom . >
  17. Congrats on the job . Keep us posted on the clearance items .........
  18. I made a Lock Box for my Moultrie I-40 . I don't put any cameras out that I can't lock up . I used a ammo can to make mine .
  19. It sure looks like it would keep a trail cam secure ! Nice job ....
  20. Magnus makes a serated broadhead . I wouldn't use one but they must be selling them .........
  21. What's funny is when a bowhunter will spend $100 plus for something like an Bowtech Octane and then take it off when in the stand . For most of us the quiver is nothing more than a device to carry the arrows from your vehicle to your treestand / ground blind . Actually , a properly mounted quiver does more to deaden any bow noise . I either hang the bow on a hook , snipped tree limb or tie it to something .
  22. I remember , years ago , when guys used to use just the safety belt . When someone woule slip / fall , they would often end up hanging upside down . If the belt was placed higher on the body and a hunter fell and was hanging , it sometimes put pressure on the chest and shut off the ability to breathe . I wish I had kept the article that someone did on this topic several years ago .
  23. No big deal . Everyone hits a wrong key or may lose their train of thought . I have hit the keys out of sequence and catch most of my errors but not all the time .
