  1. Super looking buck bud. Way to hang tough til the end..
  2. What areYou kiddin' What else are you going to do at 3pm on a saturday in Nov. You should be in the woods all day this time of yr. if you want to up your odds at a buck.. No excuses.
  3. You have some great deer out there no doubt Pat. Almost as good as where i hunt but maybe we just manage to kill more of them cuz were better shots. LOL
  4. Larry, sounds like a great day for you and your crew. Congrats..
  5. 13, i hear what your saying. I think what i would do is check in the morning and see if you find the deer dead. If so then tag it and call the DEC and tell them what happened. I'm sure they will issue you another tag and also be aware of this Johny shot lately fella and maybe they'll catch him next time but i wouldn't make a big deal out of it until then. Sounds like Newbreed was hunting public land or at the least, land that he didn't have exclusive rights to, so this is pretty much standard opening day stuff. Sucks to be around that kind of stuff but much more unscroupulous things went on today i'm sure.
  6. Ya i don't get the "sitting in your stand 40 min after legal shooting" thing as being some sort of legal problem. What am i missing here. You can spend the night up there as far as i know.. I definetly would not have tried finishing that deer off. Sounds like he certainly shot a bit late but maybe he was waiting for you to climb out before he went to find his deer. Just a thought.
  7. Wow, what a great day Noodle. Get some pics up when you can..
  8. Great looking buck Pat.. Congrats to the good and the lucky..
  9. Baidarka, Congrats on your first deer. Nice shot too.. Looks like you killed the deer and wounded the tree. LOL
  10. Geno, Aweful sorry to here about that miss.. Sounded like a good one. Hopefully you get a second chance at him. I'm on my 19th day in a row without hunting. Wish i could have been out there with ya'll. Congrats to those who killed today.
  11. HaHaHa. Treeguy, I love your enthusiasm.. I'm rootin' for ya man. Nothing sweeter than a last day successful hunt. Go get him..
  12. Your joking right orion?
  13. I kinda think sometimes they are disappointed in what they killed. I'd imagine for some guys it's pretty frustrating to hunt in a unit for 30 yrs and never shoot a deer to put on their wall. Must be pretty frustrating and i feel bad for them. I wish they all could shoot what they go to bed the night before opening day dreaming about. Pretty sure thats not a forker or small doe.
  14. Ghug, Could not agree more..Muck boots are the best i've ever worn.. I have the Woody Elite Stealth boots and i wear them from opening of bow til the end of muzzleloader seasons. 315 , If you think you may want a touch more warmth then i would go with their new Arctic pro hunter boot. I promise if you buy these, you will be happy..
  15. Harness' don'y interfere in any way with any shot you will have on a deer. Your just not setting it up correctly. Learn and experinment with how to do it correctly. Thats just one of the many lame excuse guys use. when they just don't feel like using them..
  16. My buddy told me if you drive over 40 mph on 104 or the parkway after dark, your nuts..
  17. Shooter, If you don't buy a Hoyt your a pansy.. That should stir things up. LOL. By the way, were you really serious about the "cool look to it" part?
  18. HB, i'll cast 1 jerk vote, but will say this, sounds like your in for years of hunting nightmares if you don't find some way to co- exist. Nothing worse than two hunting neighbors that hate each other. You did the right thing getting the DEC involved .
  19. Doewacker, lmao, your right. After you've shot a few, you find you don't use words like "could have if i wanted to". All 15 of them may have busted you on the draw or jumped the string or you may have punched the trigger on that live target. Nothings for sure til you got them on the gambrel..
  20. I have to say that i'm pretty impressed with these responses. Wish i could have said none like a few out there. Great job on your parts. Of course the guy who has to buy a new dozen arrows every year probably is not going to give us his report. LOL
  21. Freezers full, use scent-lok stuff, didn't really spend hundreds, and agree with ya'll 100%. Baking soda works great for a bunch of hunting applications..
