In the Catskill area the Deer were plentiful during Bow / Crossbow season .... 2 - 3 days after gun opened they went into hibernation looks like ! We know they didn't go anywhere just switched to Nocturnal ! And without a kick in the a$$ will sit tight and let you walk on by !

Just went to Wally World to pickup 12 Ga. Slugs , not one in the store ! Gonna try Dicks tomorrow in Albany !

If you bought the MZ tag and also have a Bow tag you can use your Crossbow in MZ season and take Either ! I'll be doing just that !

Greene by far ..... The economy is bad as far as employment goes and lots of Hotels / Motels / Farms closed over the years ( nothing due to COVID ) which has zero effect on the Deer population but has a big impact on land for sale !

Interesting .... I put in for 4H and did not get it but that's just typical . I get one there about every other year so I get a preference point every other year . A relative put in for 4H and did not get it , the day before opening day ( gun - SZ) he gets one in the mail (which I pushed one to him opening day ) ? I put in for my DMP's about two weeks before the relative and never received anything in the mail . I realize it's a lottery and am unsure if timing means anything ? Also does where an individual live have any bearing as to where they put in for a DMP , I doubt it but ya never know ! Just curious !

Yup .... I believe the highest Kill Day is opening day of Gun .... SZ ! ( I've been wrong once before but I was Mistaken ! LOL )

I currently do not have a Gun Cabinet / Safe . I've always thought about picking up a couple of old ( or new ) school Lockers for that use ! Probably improve on the Security a little bit !
