This is 20,000 acres of public land just south of Harrisville, NY about 2 miles from my house. http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/46367.html

Coyote gun....nuff said. HaHaHa.....just messin'. I've seen a few pile up to a .243 with factory ammo
-
I say 444 marlin is the better choice of the 2 if you want better ballistics. Both guns are pile drivers a buddy has the 444 in an 18 in barrel and it is ported. LOUD AND OBSCENE, but so is he

Savage makes some quality guns. I own a few model 99's and a model 10ML(50 cal muzzle loader)....Just my 2 cents Also can't ever go wrong with chosing the .308

I once trapped a 66 pounder.

http://www.savagearm...odel/10MLIICAMO This is what I use now. The best in my opinion. I use smokeless rifle powder and get cloverleaf groups @ 100 yards. I hunted all day in the rain with it and it fired flawlessly on a very nice 8 pointer. I hunted the whole season with it the 1st year I had it and it NEVER failed and hasn't yet. The ability to usesmokeless powder, without the excessive fouling from black powder, is the biggest bonus in my opinion. Hunted and killed 5 with it in one year and the barrel was still slick and clean. Also it has ballistics close to that of a 450 Marlin.(NASTY)

I live in Potsdam and have taken and seen quite a lot of very nice bucks.

I am a big fan of Remingtons and Rugers. Have killed plenty of deer with a Ruger M77 in .308. and a Remington 7600 in 35 Whelen Ackley Improved. The .308 is a tack driver and was made in 1953. I have never lost, or even looked very hard for, a deer with either of these calibers. I have plenty of other rifles but these are my favorites for deer hunting. it.

This is how I kill all my deer. I sneak up on 'em and jump on their backs. Been on a few wild rides but I like going back to my caveman roots....LMAO I have done this a few times. One time was unbelievably quick. I sliced wide and hard, both arteries on the neck pumped blood like a garden hose. The deer was dead in seconds. My buddy and I just looked at each other and went WTF.

Training areas 17, 18, 19 are good for bear, 19 is a bit tricky and easy to get turned around in. I know of many NYS recordbook bucks shot in these areas also.

Fort Drum has a large number of bear, just have to get a permit. They are free and there is over 100k acres of hunting land.

Go to Duffany's Autobody on State st. Just past Stewarts. He does a decent job. He is also a hunter safety education instructor.

Rage broad heads make marginal shots deadly

Just thought I would try to switch the subject.
