  1. Bushallows taxidermy in Auburn. Here are some pictures of a fox he just finished the other day. I can get you his info if you're interested.
  2. Picked my Euro up today from the buck I shot Oct 12. Bushallows taxidermy in Auburn did the work. Turned out awesome! Had him scored and aged too. Any guesses on score??
  3. One of the reasons I'm interested in them. I live a few miles from Auburn and my pro shop sells STAN exclusively. But I have $150 in Bass Pro gift cards so that's why i looked at TruBall. I'm going to try both out.
  4. Maybe contact the NY big buck club to see if they have anything.
  5. Anyone on here use a four finger release to shoot with? Whether it's for hunting or league I'm looking for some input. I'm considering getting one for archery league. Just wanted to know what the pros/cons are of them. I've been looking at STAN and TruBall.
  6. Does she enjoy gardening? Could Always get her a gift card to a nursery if she does.
  7. I would not be disappointed with him, good buck
  8. I think my guy here has .35 Rem. I can check next time I'm there.
  9. He's an 8 and I think he's only a yearling. Might be a 2 year old, I'll have to look at my other pics to confirm
  10. Here are some sample pictures from the Browning cameras. I have 2 Browning Dark Ops (black flash) and 1 Browning Strike Force (IR). I've only had the Strike Force for about 1 1/2 weeks so I don't have a lot of pictures with it. The first 13 pictures are from the Black Ops camera and the last 7 are from the Strike Force camera. I tried to include a little of everything. I am happy with the performance so far, especially the battery life. I am using Tenergy rechargeable batteries and haven' recharged them yet. The battery meter only shows 1-2% reduction since I've had them out. I am still trying to figure out the best settings for the cameras and will have plenty of time this off season to get them fine tuned. The night time pictures in the Black Ops are ok, but the daytime pics are superb. This is my first experience with black flash so I wasn't sure what to expect. I would however recommend these cameras to anyone. The price is good and so far no issues. I will continue to post pics up here throughout the winter.
  11. I love massages. There is a lady in my town that charges $40/hour. I try to go a few times a year, really is a stress reliever. My wife won't do just the massage thing, she needs the works!
  12. If you golf, you can get a spa package at Turning Stone Resort and Casino that will allow your wife to be pampered all day while you golf. Plus you get a nice dinner and if you gamble, casino time. I have done this for my wife and she loves it. Doesn't care that I'm out golfing while she is being pampered for hours.
  13. You could always re-gift them. I'll send you my address...
  14. Like others have mentioned I usually buy stuff year around so I don't really ask for big ticket items. This year I asked for 2 pairs of flannel lined pants, some Rage broadheads, and to join an archery league.,,
  15. To provide lean, delicious, unaltered meat for my family.
  16. 7 deer in the freezer, 75 lbs of sausage made (hot, sweet, breakfast), 20 lbs of slim jims, 20 lbs of summer sausage, 10 lbs crogan, the rest into burger steaks and stew. It was a good year.
  17. I'll also be doing a lot of arrow fletching. Got a smoking deal on GT Pro Hunter arrow shafts...$120 for 2 dozen, cut to length. These are my buddies arrows for our league. Still waiting for mine to come in.
  18. Yeah, I would be really hesitant to shoot these. My first concern would be how the arrow sits in my rest. Where the heck are the actuating mechanisms going to be at full draw? It appears like you'd have to shoot an arrow that was 2-3 inches longer than your current one. I know these were just released earlier this fall so it will be interesting to see if anyone actually buys them and uses them. They're pretty pricey too, $150 per 6. I know it was mentioned above that a pass through would not likely result, but I think that is part of their design. To allow for maximum carnage no matter where you hit the deer. Seems like its an excuse for guys who routinely make poor shots on deer and don't recover it to finally be able to make a recovery from a bad shot. If that makes any sense.
  19. I knew about the arbor vitae being deer food, that's not an issue.
  20. I put in a small turnip plot this summer to see how the deer reacted to it. They seemed to really enjoy the greens in October so I'll expand that. I bought a tiller for the tractor and plan on increasing the size of the plot to an acre. Also noticed a lot people were seeing deer in the plot from the road (its about 100 yards off the road). So I am in the process of looking for some arbor vitae's (~4-6 ft tall) to act as a screen. I am also considering using burning bushes or forsythias instead. I also plan on putting in an acre or two of corn or beans behind the house in an attempt to hold deer there later in the season. Have 2 new trails to make for new stand locations, brush hog the CRP, re-post the boundary lines, cut up the downed trees in the hardwoods, move a stand about 30 yards closer to a bedding area, and hang a new stand on the other end of the food plot. Seems like a lot to do. Since I'll be off in the summer it should keep me busy.
  21. Has anyone else seen these arrows advertised? I saw an ad for them today while watching a hunting show. Seems like a good idea that will work, but I personally don't think I would ever shoot one. I have attached the link to their website. http://slasharrows.com/
  22. If it were me, I'm sure I have that buck on cam several times and know he's a mature buck on my hit list. Bow is drawn and I'm sending a Rage tipped GT through his lungs...sounds good anyway.
  23. I have 2 diamonds. 2010 black ice flx and 2012 Dead eye. Two completely different types of bows and have no issues with either one.
