  1. Done and done...not a bad price for 2 stands and 2 sticks. Went with the buyers club to get the free shipping and save the 10%.
  2. Couple of nice bucks there. I put a cam on a corn stalk a few years ago. I pulled it before the corn was cut. Easy for me since I'm the one cutting it. Might be worth a shot if you live close by. Still quite a while before the corn is cut. Good luck.
  3. Was just shooting 2 targets for practice, but decided to put them all out. Makes shooting different yardages so much easier!
  4. Bummer, will definitely keep my eyes open!
  5. Nice bucks! They look older too...good luck!
  6. Auburn Walmart. I bought the last gun in the "sale". Apparently a guy was there the night before and bought 7 guns
  7. Definitely 2 separate bucks. First one looks like he could possibly get to a 10 point.
  8. How about Savages semi autos? I don't own any. I heard the new .17 WSM is awesome, but wasn't aware they make any others.
  9. If they had more than 1 I would have bought them all!
  10. By the way, my Savage 210 12 gauge is still for sale...[emoji38]
  11. I'm pretty sure it was all walmarts. There was a guy there who wanted a different gun and they called and reserved it for him at that price at another store.
  12. Stopped into Walmart to pick up hunting license and noticed a little sheet hanging up on side of cooler with gun prices. After further inspection it was a huge sale with guns marked down up to 60% off! I ended up getting the Savage 220 20 gauge for $268 including tax. That was a 50% savings.
  13. Nice pics, hope they show up more for you
  14. I asked my local ENCON and he said it was fine...
  15. Primarily bow during all seasons. If I sit a stand on a field edge I'll bring gun (when it's in season) just in case.
  16. I didn't spread a lot of PTT seeds. About 1lb or so. Just wanted to throw it into the mix. Last year it took about 40 days for the PTT.
  17. I have been thinking about buying a cell cam but haven't quite had the urge. This looks like it might be worth it. I'll wait for you (Phade) to start selling them on here with your discount before I purchase one...haha
  18. I've used Whitetail Institutes Secret spot before up at hunting camp. I have a stand on our furthest corner and there's no way to get any type of ag equipment there. I hand raked a spot about 100'x100' in a condensed hardwood area and then sprayed round up. Came back just over a week later, raked again, and spread out the seed. After a week or so it had sprouted and within a month I had pretty good greenery. Wish I had pictures. I planted it in early July.
  19. It's not much different for northern tier right now. I don't think it would have any benefits at all.
  20. The gun jamming issue is from residue buildup where the receiver meets the barrel. I have a 7400 and a couple others in my camp used too. We all had the issue after about 20-25 rounds. I took it to my gunsmith and he gave me a little metal brush that was bent in such a way that it would fit into the action and clean where the bullet and receiver meet the barrel. I clean it after every 10-15 rounds now and never have an issue. I've killed somewhere in the vicinity of 60 deer with it. I get 1-1.5" groups shooting Winchester Supreme ballistic silver tips through it. I've killed several deer over 100 yards with it. As far as the Browning goes, Two of my hunting buddies shoot the BAR in 30-06. They love them and claim the recoil is less than the 7400. I shot it and didn't see much of a difference. I will say they have a much nicer boom through the woods. Not quite as loud but more throaty...nice looking gun too.
  21. I grew up in 6K so it was all rifle. Needless to say I have a decent amount of rifles. When I moved to Cayuga county it was shotgun so I bought the Savage. Now we're rifle here, so no need for it.
  22. We still have a decent amount of venison left. I shot 7 deer last year with the smallest one being 95 lbs and biggest 175 lbs. So our freezer was pretty full. Add in the fact that I also raise sheep and put 2 of them in the freezer.
  23. Managed to get my last food plot in this morning. It is a small 1/4 acre plot. Last year I planted PTT, over seeded with clover and Whitetail Institute Secret Plot. It did well but I wanted to put in a perennial. So this year I planted Whitetail Institute Imperial edge with some PTT thrown in the mix as well. I wanted to get it in this morning before the forecasted rain rolled through, but the rain never came...haha. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so hopefully it will and it can help get the germination started. This is my first time using this so I will see how it does.
