  1. Maybe hit 140. Doesn't look like he has a lot of mass and spread isn't that great.
  2. I wasn't saying that everyone with wall hangers is a cheater, sorry if it sounded that way. Was saying that there are some people out there who have some really nice deer on their wall, will tell the story how they shot it, and leave out the part that it was at their bait pile.
  3. No arrow puller needed . Two fingers are all you need. That target is 3 years old and the redhead is 4. Two of the better targets I've ever used.Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
  4. If in good shape they can snag $3-$10. Just depends on who wants it and how bad.
  5. I'm not saying they need to follow people to their cars. If they wanted to badly enough they could get records from all these stores for everyone who buys it during the year. I'm not for that. I'm just saying if the stores who promote ethical hunting and sportsmanship sell feed clearly labeled as deer corn, its wrong. It's like saying "we're good sportsman, and we love the outdoors. But if you can't get a deer the right way, we have piles of deer bait for you to use." It's a dog and pony show strictly for the money.
  6. That 8 is a super nice buck. Good luck.
  7. Thanks for your concern Doc. I usually shoot 2-3 sets with 3-6 arrows at every range when I practice. My first set is always at the center bullseye (personal preference for focus) and the rest I scatter at the other bullseyes. I check my arrows after every set. The last thing I want is a broken arrow in my hand!
  8. Haha, definitely not Branchport deer! They aren't that small...
  9. Yeah the big 8 is a stud. I'm trying to find pictures from the previous 2 years to see if I can verify him. I think he's a 4 year old though. Hopefully I can get some more pics.
  10. Found this vintage Pepsi bottle (circa 62-72) completely intact and this old lead car metal detecting the side field at the house. Pretty cool I thought.
  11. I wasn't getting any big buck pics on the plot side of my stand so I moved it about 30 yards and faced it towards my stand. Man am I happy these guys showed up! The big guy I think is a 3 or 4 year old and the other one I'm pretty sure is a 3 year old that I think really blew up from last year (comparing brow tines). I've put a picture from last year in as well, let me know if you think its the same buck.
  12. I shoot pretty much every morning around 6 for about 30-60 minutes. Sometimes I'll shoot just before dark with the Lumenoks, that's fun!
  13. I've used a bunch of different ones and have seen virtually no difference in performance. I currently have a limb saver on my primary bow. I think it's 6 of one half dozen of the other when it comes to a stabilizer.
  14. My first 30, 40, and 60 yard groups of the day. I'll take that! For some reason the 50 yard group didn't save.
  15. Thanks for sharing, great video!
  16. No, hunting any crop planted by man is not baiting. Dumping a pile of corn or feed on the ground for a few weeks where the sole purpose is to hunt over it and harvest an animal is baiting. I'm sure you're just trying to justify it in your head because that is what you do. Keep telling yourself it's not baiting. Food plots, naturally occurring foods, standing agricultural crops, or food that is in place as part of normal farming practices are not considered baiting or feeding. "Baiting" is defined as putting out food materials for wildlife to attract, lure, or entice them as an aid in hunting.

    Waxing

I wax my string every week which is about 300-400 shots.
  18. There is no law preventing anyone from having a food plot. Regardless if it doesn't grow naturally in the woods or not. Do you think the fields of corn, soybeans, alfalfa, etc all would grow naturally if they weren't planted by farmers? We can legally hunt over them, so what is the difference? Baiting is false advertisement for the deer and it's primary purpose is for the harvesting of deer. I'm sure most people who bait only put the feed out during the season, therefore giving the deer false hope that they found a winter food source. If the correct food plots are planted, they can provide deer with a pretty steady supply of food throughout the year. Thus making them more likely to return year after year. Which is a primary reason why food plots are legal and baiting isn't.
  19. They could have been one of the deer farmers. LIke jjb4900 said though, I highly doubt they are stopping into BPS to get their corn. If they are, good for BPS cause that is some expensive corn! I talked to one of the guys at Pasture Prime whitetails last year and i remember him saying he bought the buck jam from BPS or Dick's for his deer.
  20. You get an expensive roasting stick after the pass through. I'm sure the meat just stays inside those rounded parts, why not start a small fire and eat up!
  21. I walked into Bass Pro Shops (Auburn) yesterday to get some glue and blazers for some arrows. On my way back to the archery dept I pass a pallet of "Deer Corn" in 50lb bags for $9.99. Clearly labeled as such. The thing that gets me is I must have seen 3-5 guys with 1 or more bags of the "Deer Corn" in their carts. There was actually one guy with 5 or 6 bags. Amazes me how these big stores sell all the attractants that are illegal here and get away with it. It amazed me more that people will actually purchase it knowing it isn't legal. I'm sure these are the guys that have a dozen wall hangers that they painstakingly hunted day in and day out for...or just sat over their pile of corn.
  22. Nice looking bucks, good luck!
