  1. Way to go...Now I'm going to want to check my cameras every other day!
  2. Wasn't trying to be a jerk, I've caught plenty of largemouth in the 3-5 lb range and that is what they look like. You'll know when you catch a 7 lber, the belly will be giant and you'll be able to fit your hand in its mouth with ease! Still a nice fish!
  3. Nice fish, not so sure about the 7 lbs though. 3.7 lbs I would believe.
  4. Now that we're just about into September, that means we're in our last month for bow season prep. What's everyone doing the last month to get ready? Getting vacation in order? Calling buddies to set up hunts? I personally will be trimming up the shooting lanes on a couple more stands, setting up a few new stands, shooting my bow as much as possible, and putting out a few more cams in the new spots. Then the fun of waiting for the night before opening day to decide which stand i'll be in. Can't we just start now? Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
  5. Check out the Trophy Ridge React one pin sight. I have the 5 pin sight and love it, but if the one pin is as sweet as the 5 pin, you'll love it!
  6. I shoot the non sabot 260 grain in my .45 cal CVA ML with 120 grains powder. Shooting 2.5" groups at 150 yards. Performance has been great.
  7. Awesome pics. Nice wide 6 and a dang nice looking 9 point. Good luck.
  8. No experience with that drop away, but have QAD HDX ultra rest drop aways on my bows and love them.
  9. What a great looking buck. Good luck hunting.
  10. Here are some nice 2 year olds in my beans that can hopefully make it through the season.
  11. 135-140" Score wise, he isn't really wide, doesn't have a ton of mass, and his points are average length. He is a great deer that I would shoot if given the opportunity and proudly hang on my wall. He is a mature buck and shooting one of them is an accomplishment itself.
  12. Like VT Outfitter said, if I had to pick 3 things only: sharp knife, compass, flashlight. As far as camo goes, you can get pretty decent light weight camo tops and bottom from any major retailer for under $40 total. Or if you go to Wal-mart you can get their camo sweats for like $10 a piece. It will work for starting out archery hunting. Good luck.
  13. Nice looking bucks! The one in the foreground looks like a nice 2 year old. Can't tell too much about the one in the background other than he looks much bigger! Good luck!
  14. Just picked up 2 muddy lite stands and 2 sets of climbing sticks for $260 at Dick's. Find the sales and buy it if you can. I saved $220 total.
  15. 8 stands on the farm ~100 acres and 25-30 stands up at hunting camp ~600 acres.
  16. I shoot the Winchester supreme ballistic silver tips in 115 grains out of my 25-06. Every deer I've shot with them have dropped in sight.
  17. Squirrel chili. Just take your favorite chili recipe and use squirrel meat. I usually try to cook it for 8-10 hours.
  18. I think if you want to remove the pictures from the card you need to do what Meat Manager did. Buy a small, cheap laptop solely for that purpose. Aside from that, if you already have a laptop you could tote that out there.
  19. You can't go wrong with the Muck boots. I have 2 pair and have no complaints about either. I bought the Under Armour boots last year and really like them as well. Don't cheap out on boots. Try some on and get the ones that are comfortable. Personally, I prefer a good leather boot for walking and only wear the rubber boots when I know I will be walking in deeper water. If you plan on walking a lot or do a lot of still hunting, skip the rubber boots and get a really good pair of lace ups.
  20. try out this link http://www.bowhunting.net/evaluation/001-GFK-AnswerReleaseAid.html
  21. I'm sure you are aware of this, but if you have a lengthy drive you shouldn't tie or seal the bag closed during transport. The remaining body heat from the deer could start to spoil the meat.
  22. First one is from hunting the corn 2012 and the second one is from today. Saving money on hunting gear always puts me in a good mood
