  1. That turned out pretty good! Nice job!
  2. That's similar to the one I won. The one I have is the HD version. Hope it's decent!
  3. I really like the styling of the Ram trucks and if I were in the market would give them a consideration. Only problem I have seen is the body doesn't hold up like some of its competitors. I have an 04 Silverado that is in far better shape than some newer Rams I have seen. Granted, everyone treats their vehicles differently so maybe that is the main reason. As far as the new 2.7 L diesel Eco boost goes, what kind of HP/torque are they cranking out? I would expect it to be comparable at least to the 5.4 L triton. Call me old school, but it just doesn't sound right. "Nice truck, what you got under the hood?" "That there is a 2.7 L, 164 cubic inch, Eco boost" haha
  4. Grow, what Bushnell model do you have? I won a Bushnell Trophy Cam HD in a lottery and received it yesterday. I'm gonna put it out after the cold spell and see how it works.
  5. Older stuff I like Johnny Cash, Willie, Hank Jr/Sr, David Allen Coe. New stuff, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, and George Straight are my favorites.
  6. Fletch I think you're definitely missing some inches. Those beams are 24-28" each, and I'd say you're weak in the G2's and G3's. He's def a 150" deer.

    Indoors

3D deer at 20 yards, bag targets at 30 and 40 set up in the barn. No back stop. Haven't put one through the siding yet...knock on wood.
  8. Well today was my last day of deer hunting for the season and it turned out to be a pretty good one. Was skeptical about going out this morning but glad I did. I had the already made the decision in the preseason that i was only going to shoot a mature buck so this was my last day to do it. I got into stand at 5:45, wind was perfect, light snow, and temps were warmer than expected. Didn't take long after legal shooting light for the movement to begin. Started with 7 doe cruising through at a leisurely pace. All 7 presented me with a shot, but already have 4 in the freezer. About 8:30 I caught movement in the thicket. I grabbed the binocs and immediately spotted the big bodied deer. Couldn't tell what type of antlers he had but knew it was decent. I put the binocs down and got ready. He stepped out of the thicket and I knew what buck he was. A really nice 2 1/2 year old 8 point. This was the first time I'd seen this buck all year, and he looked nicer in person than on camera. He got within 15 yards of me before he decided to move out of the area. I watched him leave and thought I hope he does that next year. Sat till 10 and headed out. Wasn't the big mature shooter I was hoping for, but nice to know there will be at least one buck for next year, or maybe the year after.
  9. Hope you find those sheds. Be nice to see what he scores.
  10. I've been using my bow all of gun season, with the exception of when I hunt in northern tier or sit in the blind on the corn field. Have taken 2 doe so far during gun season with the bow.
  11. Slug gun-Savage 212 Bird/trap gun-Winchester 101 12 gauge o/u
  12. Bigger than a spike. Look for tine marks on trees right next to the rubs. This can kinda tell you if he has additional points.
  13. Congrats to your friend! Thanks for the update! Let us know what he scores when you get the info.
  14. I don't think it's the same deer. A few subtle differences in the antlers that would carry through from year to year. I would say that deer is 4.5 and prob upper 120's to low 130's. Great looking buck. Shoot him, get him measured, and then let us know!
  15. Congrats on a great buck!
  16. What time of day are the pictures?
  17. I was shooting the CX Mayhem's in my bow and switched early this summer to Redhead X1 Pro (same arrow as GT Pro hunter only $10 cheaper per 6). I have been completely happy with them. Shot 2 deer this year with the same arrow. It's back in my quiver now,we waiting for its third victim. I ended up buying 2 dozen in total this summer.
  18. I agree, nice work for his second mount. I'm sure it was fairly inexpensive for you as well. I know the actual molds and tanning are pretty reasonable. Only way to get better is practice!
  19. Like WNYBuckHunter said, still hunt. Especially if it's windy and rainy.
  20. I've been shooting them for about 10 years now. I shoot the 168 grain in my 30-06, they perform very well.
  21. Cool deer! So, you still have your buck tag then?
