My first two archery deer were taken with the 5 blade version. Tips unscrewed and you could replace the whole spinning cartridge. Back when I took my bow course the instructor showed us a square frame that had nails around the perimeter of it and so many rubber bands stretched from nail to nail across the frame that is was a solid wall of rubber bands. he had two of these. through one frame he shot a 4 blade Razorbak and as you imagine some rubber bands cut and flew off the frame. then he shot a Razorbak 5 through and the rubber bands really flew off. his point was that with an even number of blades you could run through muscle and not cut the muscle fibers. He felt this led to diminished blood trails and lost deer. His advice was stick with 3 or 5 blade heads. made sense with his demonstration and i have never veered away from that right or wrong. Anyway. that is why I shot the Razorbak 5's...lol

New hunting cabin beds
Culvercreek hunt club replied to bugsNbows's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
8 years old and our camp has never had a mouse in it. Keeping the critters out was a key factor during the build. I am not sharing my space with vermin, other than the hunting buddies i have...lol -
Yeah used to be your regular season tag for bow. use it for either sex if you wish but then you were done unless you drew a doe tag for gun.

1- regular season tag (antlered tag during regular season or either sex during late season) 1- Either sex tag with your first purchased special privilege (bow) This tag can be filled with either special privilege in their legal season 1- Antlerless only tag with your second purchased special privilege (Muzzleloader) This tag can be filled with either special privilege in their legal season 2- Possibility of up to 2 Antlerless tags during the first application process (deadline October 1st) 2- Possibility of up to 2 Antlerless tags during the left over unit application process (Available November 1st) 2- Maximum of 2 Antlerless permits signed over to you from another hunter. This is for the general state. I have no idea how the crazy NY city area rules work. It also doesn't consider any special bonus areas in the state.

I figured it was fairly recent. I remember how it use to be for the antlerless take before the current arrangement.

How long have you been hunting?
-
As long as he is only 14 or 15.
-
Grampy. Apparently the correct thing to do is to tell the little crumb muncher to learn how to bow hunt so he has a chance to hunt does. How old is he Grampy?

Having better control of antlerless Harvest is Communist? Trust me I take advantage of it. I go up north and fill a antlerless only bow ML tag in the NZ early ML season. I do that in an area that doesn't allow antler-less permits at all for regular season. Does that make sense?
-
Ever know anyone that had to go through the procedure for a modified bow? Of so since you are able to bow hunt you want that guaranteed tag. Gotcha
-
Chef. Us bowhunters are in a he minority. I hear every year about not a chance at doe permits out of guys. To have a more realistic accounting and a shot for the majority, the gun hunters to take a doe. Doesn't effect me. I get more tags than I could possibly fill in a season. So you have a problem with antlerless being fully accounted for under the lottery system? What are you saying to those that can't physically bow hunt? Kiss off?

I'll post a pic. Looking from the back of the gun it is mounted at 11 o'clock at normal distance and can still use iron sights -

I'd LOVE to see them implement mandatory reporting as well but I guess that would be too much to hope for.
-
They don't have them all the time. it is a draw item in their fliers that they do.
-
yeah. they usually don't have many of these draw items. I picked up a brand new 3250 generator there for $200 about 8 years ago. Still purrs like a kitten. They had 3 of them in the store when the doors opened. I was one of 3 guys there to get then when the door slide open

I like the "all anterless by lottery". Then everyone has the same shot.
