  1. Make sure your boots and socks are not too tight. Stay away from cotton. I like the smart wool socks. And if on stand use these. you will never have cold feet. https://www.walmart.com/ip/HotHands-Toe-Warmers-7-Pair-Value-Pack/21154929?action=product_interest&action_type=title&beacon_version=1.0.2&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&client_guid=ec7d78b3-b457-441c-83d4-6215ea3cd9a9&config_id=106&customer_id_enc&findingMethod=p13n&guid=ec7d78b3-b457-441c-83d4-6215ea3cd9a9&item_id=21154929&parent_anchor_item_id=17808715&parent_item_id=17808715&placement_id=irs-106-t1&reporter=recommendations&source=new_site&strategy=PWVUB&visitor_id=V2b0-zmWd-_9wr9uj-aSJU
  2. I've been through the zippo hand warmers (they smell). I've used the solid fuel stick hand warmers. Can't beat a good hand muff and the hot hand packs in there. I rarely wear gloves anymore. If I do it's only on my left hand.
  3. This fishing is all I had growing up. Didn't make it onto any big water, just small "cricks". This fishing is more like stalking than fishing. I had one small stream that was limestone fall after lime stone fall. plunge pools at the bottom of each one. Once you got int he ravine you were committed to the couple miles of fishing becasue you couldn't get out the sides and no one ever wanted to climb back up...lol. I sure do miss that.
  4. That's because you are over on the "P" side of things. lol Pittsford, Penfield.. That is just nuts though.
  5. I'll take 20. Put mine by Steve863's so i can cut the big bucks off from getting to him.
  6. I'ts a family site so I can't even begin to describe what the real estate agent would have to do to get me to pay $20k an acre.
  7. I can see 20k an acre for the finished subdivision lots in some suburbs (all the P's...lol) not the raw land though. I know it wasn't going to that in Henrietta. 87 acres of approved land to subdivide (I have a copy of the subdivision prints) just was sold for $275,000 a couple years ago. That's under $3,200 for raw land.
  8. I wasn't going to comment but 3 posts on the site and all three were about this sale.
  9. Can['t say that it has. Grow. did it happen to you from a "buck fever kind of thing" or cold or a mechanical issue with the bow?
  10. It is a whole different intensity level and misses are laughed off much easier.
  11. There are those guys. Always will be I guess and no amount of practice or prep will instill ethics.
  12. Not being able to see it I would opt for a property line entry. Might be a bit late now but could still take a trip in to clear limbs and such. mark the trail and use the most down wind perimeter to gain entry. I am never a fan of entering through the middle but sometimes it could be the only option. The best route may not be the shortest rout.
  13. I don't agree. you are acting like we can't choose what shots we take. This isn't golf where in order to complete a round you may end up with a 40 foot cross slope putt you have to take. I can walk into the woods and decide that I will not be shooting at anything over 20 yards. 15 yards, 10 yards. Irresponsibility comes in when you choose to take the shot outside your ability. I would rather see a guy shoot 2 times a year and walk into the wood saying he was restricting himself to 20 yards over the guys that shoots all year and lets that 60 yard arrow go. He might be great on paper at 60 but talk about injecting possibility of things going wrong, A step, more cross wind. the twig you are so hung up on. The list goes on an on.
  14. I would certainly put that list in a different order...lol
  15. is this state land? how pig a chunk of property are we talking about? Arrangement of the property make a HUGE difference in the answer. bedding, food locations, travel route, Wind. wind wing. oh and one more thing. wind
  16. yeah the clusters look pretty similar in photos. I don't believe I have ever seen a ginseng plant in person. Not that I noticed anyway..lol
  17. Brings up a great point about inspecting your arrows when shooting. If you have ever seen an arrow break up as it is shot it doesn't take more than once to reinforce that routine.
  18. I have to agree with Steve. i don't think this is one I would be traveling into the path of. Stay safe if you do end up going. This one could be really nasty.
  19. I can understand your point on practice but I have no idea what his shooting distances are in a hunting situation. I had a couple years of workign on the road and never got to practice. One time to make sure everything was as I left it. I was dead on at 20 yards and that is what I limited myself to. I also have a couple stands that would require no trimming ever becasue of where they are but I didn't read that in his post. He never mentioned shootign lanes. it was trail clearing the way it read to me. " I don't do food plots , trail cutting , hinge cutting , scouting."
