Questions of hunting over bean and corn fields
Culvercreek hunt club replied to martinhunter12's topic in Deer Hunting
Don't give up on the bean if they pick them and they don't plow it in right away. when the other food sources are depleated I have seen deer go back to bean fields after the snow and freeze starts and pick up missed beans and even paw up the plants and eat the roots. -
Just reading that sounded like nails on a chalk board. Don't ever scrap on it unless it is plastic like Dinsdale said. Carb or Brake cleaner works great and if you have to soak it.

Not a fan of any folding knife for gutting or any skinning/processing. Probably just in my head but I don't like nooks and crannies in a gutting knife for bacteria to hide in.

At 25 yards that doesn't surprise me. I had one old eastfield pump that was was a vented rib with a single bead and it shot lights out inside of 75 yards. once I scoped it a 3" group at 100 with Federal slugs. It wouldn't shoot Remingtons or Winchester worth a darn. You may have stumbled on it preferred diet...lol

WNY got a response and it is an ILLEGAL implement in NY as it stands now. SO it is out for the youth hunt as well and the regs are being updated.

WNY, the yelling after the shot doesn't bother me and I don't think that is what the complaint was,. I personally saw it on 3 holes during the putt swing -

...and at a perfect time of the year to restock the freezer. Usually when they are used I was about out of the previous years take. -
use this link. There are many parcels of state land in 7R and many do not get much pressure at all after the opener. Make sure under the layers the WMU box is checked and it outlines the boarders of the WMU's http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/45415.html

These coming election are a one issue race for me. I don't give a rats butt about the cross bow issue. or any of the other hunting stances. It is about their belief they can sidestep the Constitution. Period. I wonder how those down state pantywastes would feel if it were another Constitutional right that was abused instead of the 2nd?

The PGA President was doing and interview on how they want to attract a greater diversity of people to the sport. With that attraction comes this type of behavior. It is a trade off. -

I know on rare occassions damage permits are issued for antlered deer. You are acting as the Farmer's agent in correcting the problem. If only a buck shows and presents a shot you take him. If multiple deer offer a shot you take the doe every time. This is about damage and population control and taking a buck only reduces the population by one. taking a doe has longer lasting effects. in certain situation like a tree nursery I can see targeting bucks becasue of the rubbing season that is almost upon us. -

Was an awesome weekend. I was able to go on Friday Saturday and Sunday. Weather was great and the golf was only outdone by the people watching. -
Supporting a candidate that has already demonstrated a willingness to vote against the Constitution becasue he tosses you a few bones in another area is wrong. You already know their view. I Would rather take a chance on a new person in office and if they don't deliver get rid of them also. Whatever Sweeney's views are on other topics do not matter. If her were spear heading free licenses and doubling the amount of state land I would still say he has to go.
-
If your Constitutional rights are not #1 priority then you ARE the problem. Everthing else is secondary.

Congrats Joe. Can'[t wait to see the pics from the first deer. Good luck and the guys are right...practice practice practice

I got an infection one year from a poke to a finger near my index finger nail. took about 2 days and got pretty nasty. I went tot he Dr and he lanced it and gave me antibiotics and all better ina few days.

If they will vote against a COnstitutional right don't think for one minute they won't tun on hunting if it suits them .Hunting is no a right so do go to sleep and believe it is safe. THis has to be a ONE issue election.

I have a very good snack stick recipe and a very good pepperoni but a great summer sausage recipe. We did 200# of sausages last Feb. TTHe summer sausage disappeared in the blink of an eye...lol. We are makes far fewer snack sticks and way more summer sausage this year. It is easier to stuff and this time we are going to throw in some cheese and hot peppers for some of it. PM me an email address and next week I will send you the recipes. One this to purchase is a remote read thermometer. They have one in Cabelas that has the probe and a cable and the readout has an alarm and a magnet so it can sit right on the smoker. Takes alllllll the guess work out of the smoking and you don't have to keep opening it up.
