Trip to the State Fair and canning.

Growing up when we did a bunch for freezing or cobbler we used to blanch them and the skins pealled right off.

Whisker biscuit or arrow rest

My Bowtech sucked with a WB on it. That is why I got a drop away and put it on a new Hoyt...lol -
his Ithaca is a slug gun . He wants one for turkey and duck. An option could be a bird barrel for the Ithaca. But if it is a receiver mounted scope I can see his desire for a new gun to avoid removnig the scope. If the OP is shooting open sights on the slug barrel i would just get a bird barrel for the 37.

I have heard of lots of recipes that sound very good. (I like the chili idea). I just don't care for them fried, grilled or baked.

I have seen that just happen with varying target densities too. how that arrow stick inthe target doen'st meanthe bow is not tuned correctly. Very nive shooting. and WNY did mean that as a joke. As in no one can do that with a lame rest like a WB...lol. -
The new pressure canners are about impossible to blow up becasue the rubber safety vents. if the pressure gets too high it pops out and vents the pressure. I read a ton on them and very excited to try it.

He already has a slug gun.

Sure do wish this was an episode of Survivor -
I think for taste and texture they are right in between puddle ducks and divers. I have a very good diving duck recipe that would probably work just fine for the goose as well. Take 2 pounds of bonless duck breast add 6 cups of chicken broth add 2 chopped carrots 3 diced potatos 3 chopped stalks of celery bring to boil add old work boot simmer for 3 hours remove old work boot throw remaining contents on the garden and eat the work boot.
-
breast them out and I make Goose noodle soup. The added chicken broth seems to even the flavor out.

go inside the hand spreader when it is empty and use duct tape on the sides ofthe openings to reduce the slot width . -
Grow, Do you have a generator? That was one reason I got into the canning becasue I hated depending on the power. I have a small generator but I was concerned about losing all I had harvested. Do you can any of it?

do they offer a rubber coated boot or something for the metal travel area? My drop away has replaceable rubber on the travel area and like a mole skin cover on the containment bar. Very quiet. -

Bucks... Same buck as last year?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to njg0621's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
I don't think he was talking about being able to get the deer on camera I think he was talking more about the human presence and making a mature buck aware you are in there roaming around. -
Grow, some of the cams have some internal memory as well as the cards. If your does maybe the dopes didn't tun off the camera and their pictures are onthe internal memory. Wouldn't that be sweet. I am surprised they dind't just scarf the whole camera.

edbone didn't say the kid was a bowhunter. Since he is, just get the DMP when he gets his bow license and it will be good when he gets his gun license on November 9th.
-
The deadline for the initial DMP is October 1st. If you are lucky enough to hunt in an area with left over tags the second issuing period is around the beginning of November. They will announce the WMU's with left overs and the dates. Sounds like your best bet is to sign one over to him, get one in the second drawing or wait until next year.

Rossi Rio Grande in 410
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Elmo's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Elmo, I have a .410 in a bolt action. wonderful little rabbit and squirrel gun. no kick and fun to shoot. I will caution you though, check the ammo prices. THe last time I bought ammo for it I could have bought 2 boxes of 12 ga for the price of one box of .410. -
Read all the regs. they have changed this years early season goose. They have upped the bag limits, changed the leagal shooting times and changed the 3 shot limit to 5 in the areas I hunt.
