Antler Restrictions - What are your thoughts?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to TheHunter's topic in Deer Hunting
I am lucky with soe of the property I can hunt, but I know a lot of guys from central Ny to western regions that have teh same sighting. I havve to admit I see way more during bow....the little buggers all head to Myrtle beach around Holloween...lol.- 1885 replies

Put the stand on the ground and lay a dummy there...catch that look on his face with the camera when he comes back in...

Trespassers on my land & deer stands
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Landowner's topic in General Hunting
Found a stand on our posted property...very nice ladder stand. i didn't want our stands stolen so I took his down...after I cut his lock....left all the parts at the base of the tree and put on a note to call me if he wanted his rachet straps back...couldn't have him setting it back up the day he found it. It has been in a pile for the last 3 weeks. If the guy was planning on using it for opening morning of gun....boy is he in for a surprise ;D -
Antler Restrictions - What are your thoughts?

NY...you are so full of it....If you guys like it...great....working for you ....great...My biggest point is it is not NEEDED where others are..and you keep saying you only speak for your area...but then out the other side of your mouth start spewing about a statewide AR...as do others. I see easily over a half dozed deer a year that would break 150 class and very mature. Not to mention a pile between 100-140...get them ...a few...but they are where I hunt. I dont see the problems everyone is screaming about. I guess from my point of view...as I have said before---I hate to see new reg's imposed on others and if it isn't broken here...don't fix it....Seems like every time the regulatory groups get their fingers into something they frigg it up- 1885 replies

This is so simple...I really wish we could put this to a vote and require all hunters buying a license next your to Vote on the adoption of a plan. That would put an end to this. I think the "majority" that I keep hearing about might surprise you ...kind of like talking about AR and not doing it yourself.....make the hunters choose and let the chips fall where they may. what the hell....so many of us get the "what is best for the majority" crammed down aour throats on so amny topics...why not this one too. ....firearms restrictions...increased property taxes....this health care farce...global warming.... WNY --I agree with most of what you post...but I think these guys are the doom and gloom. I have been hunting for 30 years....not a weekend but all season...been bowhunting for 25. The hunting is by FAR a lot better than it was when I started and I see better and more deer every year. I don't see NY hunting as dying. But I do see access as far worse....and when people see the $$$ in the biger racks...it will get even worse yet...NY does have HUGE tracts of public land....most of it piss poor whitetail habitat.....want to better it ---log it.....but good luck getting that past the tree huggers...that won't be stopped by the hunters....it will be by the NYC liberal panty waists

Whats so hard about passing yearling bucks?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to punch's topic in Deer Hunting
And that is logic that you can not dispute. Regardless of what regulatons are out there...20 taken away or 20 added...we aren't getting any more CO's....much to my sadness. I sure would rather see the money spent there rather than welfare of health care for illegals -

I was in Maine. I was headed to DEC in Region 3. I was going to be in that area and try to request the research backing up the decission to do AR there and data since. Unfortunately I was on the road a lot and will be working every day from now until the opening of SZ gun. That in itself has me in a grumpy mood...lol It is still on my to do list though...I haven't forgotten -

bill,,,I think it boils down to change....the same resistence to change to implement something is there to remove something...less a$$ ache to leave things as status quo. That is why I am nervous about anything that places more restrictions on any hunter. It is not so easy to go back. The groups pro AR do have $$$ backing them and when I see studies...polls and such from them with comments that make me ask questions...I really resist any change. If there is to be a study I would love to see them truely from an impartial source. It really makes me suspect when I ask questions and get no answers from the ones that believe it is for the best. I am not a fall in line and drink the kool aid type...I need to hae my quesions answered and proven to me...if not ...there is no credibility -
That was my fear

I agree guys...I fight it and get caught up in it myself....I then think back at the deer I shot with a smooth bore single shot.....in gray wollrich bibs and a red wool jacket........I will stick to one thing though...boot technology has inproved alot over my unisulated rubber packs or felt lined snowmobile boots...lol

SHE??? come on...you didn't care about the answer that much...is was because it was a lady...come one...wasn't it...lol

I don't like it....I practice it but won't push it on others...never will. No why are you always saying you you answer questions but NEVER do. If my conclusions on the article are not right tell me.....don't just drink the koolaid NY...think about it and respond...Is logic and debate that difficult......Or are you just out for what you want and what make the experience better for you...drop the better for the herd BS and admit it...come one...admit it...you are out for YOU!

Oh...forgot it was 7:10. In all fairness....I have walked out of the woods a couple spots that I hunt up north that take me an hour to get out....Guess I was giving the guy that got shot some benefit of the doubt...other than hunting with a criminal...lol
-
Hopeless? why is it always a response like that. If you want a debate then address my comments. They seem very realistic from a pure logic standpoint. When I lok at a program outlined before me and see blatent facts that are obviously written to achieve a certain emotinal response and are NOT based in science...kinda make me question the study as a whole. Soooo hw was I wrong?
