  1. Hand called for years with no success. Not even a sighting. Bought a foxpro with the foxjack decoy.... had a dog on the ground in ten minutes. Have had great luck since then with it. I have hand calls but never use them anymore. Handsfree, no moving, loud, all kinds off calls, just a fun way to get dogs !
  2. I guess I can give that a whirl... was just hoping for some sort of Web page or something easier. I have to assume it's out there ?!
  3. Anybody know how to access an erie county specific records book for bucks ? I can't seem to find anything but statewide or counties other than erie.
  4. Seems the pack has found new ground for now, but I did have one big male on cam from the other night. Hunted 2 sets, no luck. Unfortunately ( I guess it was him ) had a big set of tracks sneak through behind me. On my way out I saw the tracks and followed them to his bed in the hardwoods.... came in upwind of the caller... who would have guessed ! Ah well, back and it next week or maybe an evening with good moon light.
  5. Muck !! I have artic sports and never get too cold where it's unbearable. But, I also wear them year round, spring turkey...etc. I think they have a step higher / warmer too. Give em a try
  6. Well, it's all over till Oct 1 15' . My best year ever has come to a close ! Treeguy is one thankful hunter. NOW, on to killin dogs, then she'd hunting, then spring gobblers, then fishin, the scouting, then food plots, then.... well, we will see !
  7. 9h. Quiet morning. Had a big ole mammy doe at 75 yrds but to thick to risk a deflection. Judging by the mass amount of tracks this evening will be busy !!

    how many bear

Zilch. Ever. Would love to introduce one to my wall though ! Our neighbors in franklinville always see them, get them on trail cams and they have killed a few, so I am always excited when I'm there but nothing yet !
  9. Saw a dozen slick heads .... no shots
  10. Rained all am in 9h. Back at it with cloudy skies 36° and hopefully some action !!!
  11. Back in the saddle. 9h. Mid 30's light wind and drizzle. On a side note, helped a neighbor recover a non hitlist 8pt last night that came in my property. Gut shot, I was tracking gut slime but I knew where he wanted to go, and I was right. Nice recovery and first time I went off slime and not blood ! Was extremely hard to track since leaves had a layer of ice on them. He was happy I helped track and drag, I was happy it wasn't one of the big boys... my dad NEEDS to get one on the ground ! Maybe today is his day....
  12. I don't like either... I prefer to hunt the time in between the two, as in, FROM first light, TO last light ! I tend to see more deer early in the early season and later in the late season.

    Wet powder

Nothing worse then the "pop" and no bang !
  14. Back at it ! Hunted opening weekend, then tues, the thanksgiving morning... now it's all about getting my dad on a buck and filling doe tags ! Mid 30's, drizzle and slight swirly wind. Just happy to be out here !!
  15. Well, if it got you to look... had to post this pic, I am one proud dad !!!! If you have kids feel free to use the idea, it's great ! DISCLAMER: No innocent stuffed animals were harmed in the making of this photo.
  16. Excellent. Big or not, it's a dog down ! Great job !
  17. 30-35ish. Looks like a good pelt though.
  18. That's a scoot for me... Bout an hour away. And if your not scoring, I'll take your word !! I actually just crossed paths with a local farmer who has over 1000 acres scattered around me that says I'm welcome to kill yotes anytime... so I have expanded my area! Still willing to stomp new ground though, so anybody out there let me know !
  19. No, And the buck I got during bow was 6.5. So I have some old boys cruising that's for sure.... let em go and watch em grow. Been at this property for 5 seasons... guarantee I have passed on all these guys over the years !
  20. Mucks...toss in a toe warmer and good to go. Def not warm, but bearable for hours and hours. I'll never buy another boot.
  21. Upstate... im nowhere near Montague. Boston area
