  1. I don't know what the logic is behind this. It is very rare that I get to the cabin in early October to hunt. Of course this does not come into play in 8P. There was a post about why you deer hunt. Just being in the woods is great, so much for killing a buck until the two weeks are over for some of you guys. There is no logic here in the decision and I would just move on until you are really poked in the eye! lol

  5. Cards are back in. You may be right Wooly. On my way back in had a family of 6 grouse on the path I mowed this morning and busted up a family of about 10 Turkeys. The young turkey were the size of a full grown grouse.
  6. What do you think Picture from June 27th still has time to put on mass. Does he look non typical, how big ??
  7. This was the last month on the trail cameras. There are many fawn picts which is great. Some nice bucks and check out that real funky rack!!! I want a crack at him.
  8. Headed up for a quick trip, hard to get up there with the new business. Looks like it will be great weather high of 75 on Saturday. I'll have cam pictures from two cameras from the last month. Hope to have some nice ones! Enjoy the weekend folks!
  9. I love being part of the deers world for a short time. My property is great and always has some nice mature 3+ deer living in and around it. I usually will get a crack at one of these guys but will be very satisfied just coming home with some venison from a 1.5 year old. Time get short any deer will do except for a real small fawn.
  10. Now it on the front of a finical website. http://money.cnn.com

  12. Deer #1 but……if I lived at my cabin year round small game like grouse or rabbit would be up there.
  13. I would never go out and bow hunt in camo knowing there are gun hunters in the same woods. That is pretty foolish to me but have at it if you like.
  14. looks good, Knew those Eagle scouts could come through!
  15. Nice job and it looks like the cam was hung high in a tree. Way to go Phade!
  16. Hello there Gramps enjoy the site!
  17. I have said this before, I drive 6 hrs to camp and hunting time is limited. Yes I draw a doe permit every year and never been shut out of venison. I will be disappointed if my only opportunity gets to walk because its a small buck. Same goes for the camp down the road who come from Maryland. They better be able to get doe permits for an equal opportunity.

  19. I wear Merrills Black Bracken. They cost about 130 bucks. On my feet delivering all day and they are very comfortable. I have arthritis in my big toe so I need a lot of support and a stiff sole. Works for me good luck.
  20. I didn't see the paper but someone was talking about it on Facebook. It seemed the area for AR's was very big. 90% of the comment were pro AR's. It will be interesting for sure.
