  1. Here is another from the trail cam. Never did see him during season.
  2. Here is a bow buck. What is real cool about him (you really can't see it) is the left antler is really bladed, about 5 inches in width. He was big 2.5 year old weighed 180 lbs.
  3. http://www.newsday.c...-cull-1.6827759 Some news about the cull. From what I saw on the news last night it looked like a very small turnout, anyone there? Here is a website put together for the protection of hunting rights on L.I. http://huntersfordeer.org
  4. FYI-This is what's going on today for those interested. RALLY TO PROTEST THE CULL SCHEDULED TOMORROW. Although this was organized by "animal activists", they understand how important hunting has become in managing the deer population on LI. Remember, Rome was not built in a day, with that said we should show our colors. It is designed to protest the Cull and that is exactly what we are about. You will see that Hunters will be looked upon differently as we go through this journey together, by our peers and critics. PARTICIPANTS will occupy the green at Hook Mill on North Main Street on Saturday, January 18, starting at 1 p.m.
  5. I hear the "animal activists" are having a rally out east tomorrow. Some guys on the LI bow hunting FB site are going to join them. This is turning into a very weird situation………...
  6. 5% take it or leave it. what so hard about showing vacant land?
  7. Better picture of Big Irv!! The first picture I put up for scoring doesn't do him justice. This second picture is what you see in person. Amazing how angles change things.
  8. I have a Browning Nomad Stalker from the same year!
  9. Guys that buck has an enormous neck. When that was scored the guy said this deer must of weighed 250 + His front end was huge but had no meat on the back end. Weighed 161 lbs. Ill try to dig up some other photos before he was mounted. Had cardboard wadding from a shotgun blast healed over in his front leg!
  10. I want the deer to make it but not suffer. Mother Nature probably has something else in line for him. GL finding the head gear, maybe he will come through???
  11. Buck # 9 Gross 119 Net 111 age 4.5 Finger lake buck that had multiple battle scars from deer and man. You guys are good!!!!
  12. OMG I'm laughing so hard. That was great!!
  13. Brother was out with a friend all day yesterday at Otis Pike. Tough conditions in the rain but they did manage to see 19 deer. Only a very few offered shots. It was a lot of jump and run hunting. My brother did pull up on a late season big buck only to have his scope fogged. The deer were running by the time he cleared it. So it goes……he will be out a few more times on standby. He said it was pretty crowded yesterday morning at the check in station and some guy gave the workers there a really hard time about procedures, it held everyone up a half hour. Great way to start your hunt……..
  14. Totally love the rack. You asked for suggestions, here is one-next time maybe use more decorative (antique style) hinges. Great job!
  15. Cut up a deer on Saturday from Long Island. She had a ton of fat on her.
  16. I heard of people doing this. I was told though you have to make sure you move the stabilizer up a bit because the ladder becomes very flimsy. Is that the case from why you have done?
