Just rechecked all my stuff for morning. Looks like we may dodge any big snow here, but gonna be colder than a well diggers wallet. Sadly, I never finished my box blind, so I plan to teddy up to the point I'll look like Randy from the movie The Christmas Story. I hope I'll be able to bend my arms enough to shoulder my rifle. lol The silver lining (if there is any)to having been a front line health care worker thoughout Covid, who's health took such a beating I'm now 150 pounds lighter than when it started, I have a crap ton of clothes to cacoon in. My lifelong hunting partner, retired Army Major Uncle Bill will be with me in spirit. Other than that; now that he is gone, and my son grown and off living his own life in another State, I will be on my hill, hunting alone. I will go, but it will never be the same.

Agree! My freaking phone would not allow pics. It kept saying do I want to manage my pictures. So after I posted here I started trashing pictures and it will let me take a pic but not video. Every time I hit video my phone freezes and I need to delete more pictures to get back to where I can at least do that. At 4:20 the buck comes running by again now from the opposite discretion with both hounds in pursuit but they stayed inside the edge of the woods. So I think they now have a split and are on two different deer. I figured if I could snap a pic like you said it would be better than nothing, but if I could have gotten video it would be game over for these two. I was not able to get either in the end Im headed to the house and they are still pounding up here!

Now I’m pissed! Just had a little 3 point buck come running from behind me and I could tell be chased but not sure by what. then here comes a big redbone or bloodhound mix along with a beagle mix older hound. I leaned out of the pop up blind and gave them hell and the beagle turned tail and left, but the big red hound totally ignored me and is up here running and baying with every step locked onto that buck. That hound and whoever owns him is gonna be getting a visit tomorrow. This is a small community and it will not be hard to locate them. In meantime I’m done for this afternoon. People who let their deer chasers loose unsupervised to terrorize the woodlots should not own dogs. urghh!

In now for a short sit until dark. No tree for me this time. Staying in the brushy island pop up to keep out of the wind. Good luck all!

In and sitting. Feels deery! Bumped 4 or 5 that were together in my lower field on my way in but it’s ok, because the cool air feels good on my lungs. Still fighting week two of a really bad cold that turned into a lung infection. Good luck to those out there this morning!

Dead deer. If he just stayed there lifting and lowering his head instead of bolting when you guys found him. looking at the lower picture he either had stood up and layer down again in same bed or is bleeding out both sides. if you snuck back out quietly after bumping him, I’ll bet you find him dead and n his next bed within 100 yards or so. Again, if you did not push him last night. Good luck. Looks like you will get him to me.

Took a different route to work this morning and glad I did. I got a chance to watch a really nice 3.5 to 4.5 year old 8 point trailing a doe. He was hot behind her but stopped in the middle of a cornfield not 100 yards from my car, lifted his head, and stood there pretty as a picture. A great way to start the day!

Just flicked a frigging tick off my hand. Man I hate those things! With the weather this warm, just ain’t feeling it. May pul the plug early, do a thorough tick check, and then work on my box blind project.

I'm with you guys. Sick as a dog and surprised it is not the Vid! Trying to ignore it by keeping going and working on my first elevated box blind. It's tough though with non stop running nose , watery eyes and chills. Still, it's better than last year; when the day before crossbow opener and I was on here getting advice on my new crossbow, in the middle of the night I had an ulcer rupture that put me in the hospital for emergency surgery and almost killed me. I"ll take this flu/cold or whatever it is over that! PS...From that experience, I have a new awareness of how awful a death it must be for a gut shot deer.

I believe it is likely true. So, now keep an eye on the railway system to see if they threaten to strike, bringing further fear and misery to our people.

Pizza in Alaska is hit and miss where I lived for 5 years. I still have my home there and plan to return, hopefully in the not to distant future. But, it won't be for the pizza! : )

Nazis? It wouldn't be the first person, or first time this kind of language got thrown around on this site. Just a month ago I came under attack and had a member here refer to me in such a manner. No matter what topic, civility is a thing of the past on this site. And, the so called "rules" pertaining to not attacking other members is a farce. As a result, I watch from the side lines from time to time, but rarely if ever chime in on anything here anymore.

Can't wait for Mr. Lindell to finally have an opportunity to present in court, everything and anything he has to finally prove his case or not. For the sake of our country, I think we all should want to know the truth. I for one will be surprised if they ever really actually open this door and give him, or anyone else the chance in a legal setting. Why would anyone risk their reputation, their fortune, and their life's work, if they were not convinced they were on the correct side of the issue and able to prove it? And, what happens if he proves he is right?

What does a tractor like that go for these days? My 2120 Ford has served me well for many years, but I may be looking soon myself to finally add something new to the homestead.

You crossed a big line here! I see you can now edit your posts based on the paragraph you added to the weird flex comment. I was asked to share my "point", and I did. I shared my perspective on how awful war is, at a time when it is again crossing our television screens. It had nothing to do with any "flex" or whatever the hell that is supposed to be. So for that you call me a Nazi? Pretty twisted! That was defamatory, and if you had a shred of class or decency would apologize for such a comment. I don't recall ever treating anyone here or anywhere else in such a manner. People who are "trying to understand" don't typically go on the attack in such an extreme and disgusting manner. That does not open communication and/or understanding, rather it shuts and/or shouts it down. This is precisely what bothers me about this site anymore. There are a few here who shout down, name call, bully at every turn, and have no boundaries to how far they will sink. I thought I was pretty honest about why I think people are entitled to their opinions, but believe non citizens opinions should not carry the same weight when it comes to the goings on in our country as the commitment and stakes for them is much lower.

What are you dense? Or just antagonistic? My point was as I stated twice now. I wanted to know who here are not American citizens. I suppose in response to your "my life is here" comment, I would add there is a hell of a big difference between living someplace versus swearing one's life and allegiance to a country, in my humble American opinion. I grew up in a family proud to be American, and at a time when I put my hand over my heart as I faced the flag every morning in school while repeating the "Pledge of Allegiance" then singing "My Country, Tis of Thee", while at the same time we were being taught to crawl under our desks or hunker down to "protect" us in case of nuclear attack. My childhood was watching nightly news every night of the scenes of Viet Nam, while wondering and worrying about my family members fighting there. And, the older boys in my neighborhood I played ball with in the streets sometimes just months earlier, now also over there, and if they were ever going to make it home. I remember us kids lining up along the street and cheering and waving to the long convoys of soldiers in their Army vehicles as they drove past. I remember worrying if it would ever end; and then the feeling I experienced when the churches in our city rang their bells when it was announced the war was over and I saw those close to me with tears in there eyes probably from a mixture of sadness and relief. Non citizens may have an interest and opinions on our political situation, but they really have no dog in the fight. As far a I'm concerned, unless and until they have taken a sworn oath to this country, their comments should be taken with grain of salt . And to take it yet one more step further; to be lectured, verbally attacked, or brow beaten by bloviating non Americans who think they have the same say, rights and privileges here as citizens, simply because they choose to live here, respectfully, they can go pound salt. Care to attack some more? Peace!
