I have an uncle who has white/ yellow hair hanging so much and so far out his ears it looks like corn silk. My mother used to tell us boys clean your ears before potato's grow in there. Maybe he grew corn instead! I think I'll give him a new nic name....."Husky"!

Hey Grow...... I was just funnin with ya! I needed a good chuckle yesterday because it was a rough day, and your little scenario did the trick. Thanks! I even thought about when I got up today and wondered if the "hamsters" we're still there or if I caught them in the live trap I set with sunflower seeds as bait, on the night stand by the head of my bed last night. Lol!!!!

Wow.... Where did this all come from? Lol! Now I think you should change your name from "growalot" to "smokes a lot". Judging from this post we now know what your "growing", and "what your smoking". Lol!

Anyone have wind turbines on their property?

To me they look no different than a bunch of petroleum industrial storage tanks. I laugh at the idea of selling them as "wind farms" as a means of painting a pretty picture for people. -
I've been told they put one if the decoy deer out on my road frequently in the fall. And for as many times as they have done it there are enough fools out there that still jump out and shoot at it. I was told one local fella nailed it good and not only was he fined in the process but also had to pay for the damage to the decoy. Lol!

Sweet! When I come out to see my daughter in Webster I should toss one of my beagles in and save you the brush jumping. I used to do it your way from time to time and it is fun, but once you throw a beagle in the mix it is like an addiction.

I think it is the first time ever I agreed with anything Biz said.......lol. And, i could not have said it any better! You pretty much nailed my thoughts when I saw the pics.

Think he was "hoppy" to see you?

Any Hamilton/Utica area hunters in here?
New York Hillbilly replied to CuseHunter's topic in General Hunting
My house and property are on the main road into Brookfield. About eight miles away. There are some big woods but surrounded by scattered parcels of private land. Access to the public land is pretty easy but you may have to park along the roads in a lot of places. Hunting pressure is mostly opening week then it dies down. The old days it was a war zone, and you had better find a wide tree for your back on opening day. Now days it has quieted down to the point of almost too quiet at times. Check the rules on camping so you don't get in trouble with the many conservation officers who police the area. Every year the sit at the end of my road and stop every body to check for violations. Although, the only ones who need worry about that are the dopes who like to try to get away with stuff, and they have it coming. Happy hunting, keep it safe! -
Exhausted after taking these 2 for 2
New York Hillbilly replied to shawnhu's topic in Out of New York Hunting
Go back and read my post. I said that I "stopped", when the hunting, and yes "killing" deer felt somehow wrong, meaningless, and I did not want hunting to become something cheap and dirty feeling to me. Thankfully, even early in my career, I quickly recognized the limit for me, and difference between what felt respectful and what did not. -

The part I don't understand is how anyone with a conscience, and any level of respect for deer, view them as nothing more than vermin. I have had seasons early in my hunting career, when I have filled several tags, but stopped before I filled every tag I had issued to me for the season, because some warning sound went off within me that made me feel bad. It was a visceral experience that told me I was crossing the line of hunting and entering territory that was nothing more than "killing" for the sake of doing it. To each his own, but for me killing for the sake of doing it, no matter how it's dressed up to make it palatable, is only rationalizing ones desire to kill. To post pictures of ones endless slaughter is equally, if not more disturbing, to me. Is there no law in this state anymore regarding "wanton waste"? -
Doc, Any chance your talking about "The Buffalo Head"?

Golf.............oooooh....I'm all a tingle! Tried it a couple times but got funny looks when I pulled up to the places with my club bag strapped to the back of my Harley. Sweated my a$$ off, had to pull the shoes off and golf in my socks because the cleats were digging in and making my knees hurt. Best damned part for me was discovering lots of lost balls in the pond, and I thought they were free for the taking so I loaded up for my brother who does like the silly game. I thought the other guys were just to sissy to stick their arms in the slimy water to grab all the balls just sitting there waiting for me. lol! Found out later you are supposed to leave them alone. Oops! And it's a honey hole for frogging. I knew that long before those Duck dudes made an episode about it. Now if they ever invent a gun that shoots a golf ball, instead of using clubs, i'm back to hitting the greens. Until then ...........four........get it!

Northern sask monster bear pics
New York Hillbilly replied to Blackbayoutfitters's topic in Bear Hunting
I saw first hand the work that went into this type of hunting. No, it is not as easy as you would think. I have some real cool video kicking around here someplace of bears just about on top of me. If you think your heart beats when a deer is in front of you looking at you, you should feel it beat when a bear is circling you popping it's teeth together, and you know you have to get out of your stand and walk out to meet your guide because it's getting dark, knowing there bear is likely watching you the whole time. Whew!!!! Then as your walking out trying to keep your feet from running, you pass by a pond a beaver suddenly slaps his tail against the water.............. Brings back some spooky (fun) memories..........pass the nitro.........chest pain all of the sudden. lol! -

Back in the 1990's, my uncle and I hunted in several provinces of Canada. I'll tell you this much, those bears were not your dumpster diving, home invading, take pictures at the dump and try to pet type bears that are most frequently encountered here in N.Y. As my first, and one of my favorite outfitter/guide said, "Don't mistake these bears for those your used to back home. These are mean sons of whores and they know they're on top of the food chain here, and that you are not!" The "bush" is a dark, dense place and if you are not baiting these bears you are not likely ever to see them. For the record.....I loved Saskatchewan, and Manitoba for that matter. And no.....I don't know this outfitter. Just thought I would share my past experience. -
