  1. When the tankless breaks...good luck trying to find someone that knows how to fix them.
  2. So you can't understand why anyone would want to donate food to homeless shelters and nutrition assisstance programs? Have you ever made any kind of donation in your life. If not, then maybe you cannot understand why someone would not want to do this. I love to hunt but really only use one deer per year. I fill my dmps that I would otherwise not use because I can donate the meat. It is a win win where I get to continue hunting and folks that can use the food can get a free meal.
  3. In typical liberal elitest fashion, Cuomo is proposing a modification to the NY SAFE act to allow film crews to use otherwise banned weapons for shooting their movies in NY. So its OK for Hollywood to portray and glorify these evil "assault weapons" killing people, but the ordinary residents whom 99.9% never use their weapons for violence (nor would ever even think about shooting someone other than self defense) are still not allowed to own them. This country has completely lost its way and things are so backwards it's unbelievable. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/02/27/cuomo-announces-plans-to-modify-gun-control-law-to-exempt-film-industry-cops/
  4. EVERYTHING that Cuomo is doing at this point is to set himself up for the presidential run. He passes the nonsense gun control law so that he can say that his state passed the toughest gun control measures in the country. He now looks to throw a bone to sportsmen so that he can say that he supports hunters and supports the second amendment (even though it says nothing in the 2nd amendment about hunting). My wife is a teacher and his plans in the education world are a total train wreck. He cut state aid to schools, imposed a property tax increase limit of 2.5%, and increased mandates for schools with no way of funding them. Again this was done so that he can tell a national audience that NYS increased education standards without raising taxes. Meanwhile, school districts are failing and insolvent as a result of these measures. I am all in favor of school reform and I am a major proponent of tax reductions, but the simple math of his plan does not work.
  5. I am sure those that shelled out $850 for a lifetime license will get a refund to reflect the lower prices right????
  6. Ulster County voted in favor of repeal as well last night http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130220/NEWS/302200340&cid=mostclicked
  7. If you hear them use the term "assault rifle" it means that they have not a clue about guns. I don't know any knowledgeable gun owner that would ever use the term "assault rifle". Jessie Jackson recently said that semi-automatic rifles should all be banned because they could be used to shoot down airplanes or to blow up trains. I was hoping someone would then ask him about bolt actions, lever, actions, or single shots because they shoot the same ammunition. Statements like that show that the people proposing and sometimes making the laws are as clueless as could be.
  8. Agreed Doc. The arguement based on what is "needed" is very scary. I find that a lot of anti-gun folks don't own guns or have a need for guns themselves, so they think then that no one needs guns. This is such a narrow sighted way of looking at the world it is incredible. I always come back with the arguement that there have been a number of people killed recently by the subway in NYC. I hate public transportation and I drive my car everywhere so I personally have no "need" for the subway. That being said, I do not extend my situation to everyone else and claim that nobody has a "legitimite need" for a subway given how dangerous they are.
  9. The government in one swoop infringed upon the rights of a large group of gun owners in New York State as the most popular rifle is now banned from further purchase or ownership. Those that simply do not care because it didn't directly impact them really have their head in the sand. You don't think that anything like this can happen to the next set of firearms that the government decides are not "needed"? You don't see that this is just one step of many by the anti-gun movement? And Biz r O - you say that you didn't care that the Journal News posted everyone's names, but then you quickly posted links showing the addresses of the Journal News editors, executives, etc. If you didn't care, why would you promote the retaliation by posting the links?
  10. Biz r o - I think you are missing what the left is trying to do here. First they ban "assault weapons" and place restrictions on magazine capacities. When this has no impact on gun violence (which they know it won't) they will decide that all semi autos are the problem. Then it will be shotguns, them all hand guns etc. These people are taking a long term approach here but they will slowly chip away and restrict freedoms until all firearms are eventually banned. That is their ultimate goal and they don't care if it takes another 100 years. You are right in that it probably won't happen fully in your lifetime but that attitude seems a bit selfish. You don't care if your kids or grand kids get to enjoy the same freedoms that you enjoy today?
  11. people just get in line because they see lines and then feel compelled to get in line. I needed gas last night to get to work today, and the person in front of me put 1.3 gallons in their car.
  12. Remington should leave NY. If I were them I would say screw you and then relocate to a more sensible state. They would actually save a lot of money doing so given the insane cost of operating in NY begin with.
  13. This was great. He also asked him if he wanted a sip of his soda- classic
  14. You disproved your own point in your argument. You said that gun violence is worse and a serious issue in the cities and urban areas so stricter gun laws for everyone are needed. Cities like NYC, Chicago, and dc have the strictest gun laws in the nation (far more restrictive than even what ny state just passed and the federal proposals being talked about), but remain the centers for gun violence. Please explain how tightening restrictions in more rural areas or in areas without the rampant daily murder will improve gun violence in these places that already have stricter standards.
  15. Agree Steve but nra funds are used to hire the lawyers to challenge these laws. Us as individuals could not afford this but our dues pooled together through the nra can make it happen.
  16. Well written but I don't think that the governor or legislature had any interest in anyone's input other than the left wing anti gun mob. If they were, this bill would not have been slapped together in a back room closed door middle of the night deal. At the very least we would have had the standard 3 day comment period if they were truly interested in considering sensible measures.
  17. Because if you say something enough even though that it is factually incorrect, the sheep follow along. They keep telling us that they are military weapons, sub-machine guns, too powerful, etc and the ignorant population accepts it as fact. There are a lot of sheep out there
  18. Did anybody hear Biden make the argument that shotguns are more effective for self defense (double barrel) than "assault rifles". My question then is why are they making this big push against evil "assault rifles" when he admitted himself that shotguns are more effective????
  19. she keeps referring to them as "weapons of war". The last time I checked, the military used fully automatic rifles, not semi-auto with 10 round magazines.
  20. If someone doesn't comply with the registry of their "assault weapons", will they be illegal weapons, or will Democrats insist on calling them "undocumented weapons"?
  21. lol - I can't believe that turbo tax doesn't have a venison donation write-off option.
