I will bleat or grunt once of twice after I get in or if I have spooked something as I am going to my stand after that nothing unless something wont stop to give me a clear shot seems to have worked most years or just luck ????

I have hunted both ways as in some of the midwest states deer Canada deer and Maine for bear it is legal to bait for hunting it my not be for some folks but if it is out there and it is legal use it

looks to me as 3g is a good sized area find some state land if there is any or find so place else it is prob over money people buy there way in to some of these hunting places its sad but true and maybe you did something to upset the landowner but my guess is the all mighty$$$$$ good luck and have a better day and if you couldnt afford a $ 10.00 tag maybe you shouldnt be hunting to begin with ? so pull up your big girl pants stop crying .......

I spent all day yesterday looking at the boys and girls here in 4o land the young bucks are running the rub lines thrashing the heck out of them smelling and looking for a nice doe but no one was chasing my son and I seen 12 different young bucks from 1 to 3 year old no big boys but we tried to find one of the keepers good luck to all

A few more cold nights with a light rain and some spits of the white stuff it will be on but not yet I agree with the masses its more pre then the real deal good luck to all and may you get the one you always dreamed of

Fine a local shop owner any one of the small shops or even a gun smith can get the ammo I dont spend my HARD earned in some corporate mall feed the local guy you might be suprised at the deals these small guys can give and if you dont have some one local try to reload it is a little cost to start but then you can do any load you want I reload most every thing

wow its cold here the windchill was at - 3 in 4o this morning and the movement has been slow as I see the sun starting to peek over the hill i am hoping that daddy shows and gives me a shot but fear not if its mommy or even family member that has some size I have a new G5 with there name on it good luck to all

Yes it is kind of crazy 20+ deer in one sitting when we go back out tomorrow morning I will take a still pic on my phone and post in i have rights to about 400 acres and the stand i sit in the most is in some of the best feeding for them they keep it ate down like a lawn at the edge of the wood line theres an old orchard that sill put the apples out and they bed about 400 yards away thats why I could not understand last year there was nothing there then we went there a few nights and sat in the truck to see what was up didnt take long and you could here the sound of dogs and not youts the old long bay of ol red some one was running there coon hounds on my hunny hole any ways I got ahold of the guys we came to an agrement and now the deer are back and theres no one running dogs any more

Yesterday was my first day in the stands and what a great day it was .My wife and I seen many swamp donkeys and a few with some hardware on there heads being as we are hunting in the new 3 point rule 4o. I passed on 4 small bucks twin spikes,a 3pointer and a 5 that would have been a good one just never cam in range so the 20 + does that did come in picked the bigest and thumped her never knew we were there she jumped once looked at the arrow sticking out of the ground that just passed though her and fell over and the WIFE did a great job im sorry as I am the reason we cant post the video I was showing my sons what a good shot MOM took and I yes I messed up the clip I recorded over it as I was tring to show my sons Sorry

I also have not had luck with the Thunderheads or Rage products and I now use only the Trophy Ridge Meat seeker 3 blade it is bit more money BUT in life (Nothing cheep is good and nothing good is cheep ) but thats just my input have fun and good luck to all and most of all be safe .

Way to go fellow hunters looks like there are a few more out there this year remember to let some of the good ones stay around to get the breading done i know every one is liking this early hunt and i think its a GREAT idia but if we take all the kings out early all thats left is the junk enjoy and good luck I will be in the stand tomorrow am looking for the first to fill tag and my belly GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Just make sure its what you want I own a number of rifles from $100 - $1500 they all have there good and bad to them you need to shot wht you can handle You need to get the girlfriend in to the shooting sports and then in the stand with you I find that alot of people use the wrong gun for the area some use 300 mags and 375 mags on deer alot of waste on the meat I use a 22-250 with 60grain hornady of a 243 with 100 grain hornady its all shot placement and i can shoot just as far and dropthem right in there tracks like the big rounds Just get what you feal good about shooting and hunt safe and smart and good luck

I have shot them with bow shot gun and all kinds of rifles from 17hmr to 300 weatherby mags they all work its all in where you hit them !!!

WOW it was one of the longest and hardest years in my hunting life bow season was a wash so thought was give them hell in gun season gun got us one small junk buck so we regroup and was going to go on a brown and down killing week in ML season and fired one shot to check the ML for sight and never shot it again had to push the 200 grain sabot out last night man I hope next year is better going to miss not having the meat in the freezer I think MARVIN the steer is going to meet his maker sooner then we wanted

Just a little input from 4o I hunted on some land that was over seen by DEC you cant shot a buck unless its 6 points or more and outside there ears and they give alot of doe tags and you have to give the heads to them they age them and check them for CWD you do get the bucks back we have shot some BIG girls off this hill 180 lbs 12 plus years old my soninlaw shot a bear 2 years ago and the dec officer that came to get his tooth gave me alot of info about the way they age deer and bear the guy was right on the money with the bear he said it was 2 and a half years old when we got the report back from the lab it was right the break down on ageing deer is kind of like this 1 ,2, 3-4 4-6 6-8 8-10 10-12 and 12plus .

Yes there needs to be a break and make ML season as long as the others so if bow is 3weeks then all should be 3weeks

I agree with tughillhunter to many now it alls I have been there and done that also and every year BUT this year I have filled the frezzer oooooooooo and by the way I did not smoke in the stand I am a quiter 4 years now

You will be fine if your using store loads that is good grouping now reloads you might want to shot some more heck just shot smoe more any way its good to do that

Both are great bucks of a lifetime congrads to the hunters hope they have left behind some of there genetics
