I leave my keys and most times bow or gun in the truck key in the ignition unlocked so as far as the cold harming them nothing has they always shoot great dont know about in a tree critters like to taste of most any thing human made but I would like to see a video of a critter chewing a bow string that would be funny to see the critter jump when it let loose lol,

We only do drives if the season has not put some meat on the table there is a 60 acre spot that is part swamp thick brush along with wild rose bushes my sons and I have stands on all sides for bow and gun we only push that peice out if no one has taken anything or if we see big daddy going in and out on camera for the last thing in the season for a freazer filler doe but for the most part every one around us is running there 4 wheelers and making all kinds of noise so we sit and let them do the work lol
-
I have always seen more bucks on the morning hunt storm front or not as the doe have been down and they are sniffing the beds to find a new love good luck
-
I have taken some of my best bucks in bad weather I WILL BE OUT THERE from 645am till 430 pm if it starts raining will do some walking if not will be setting in the trees this morning and in the ground blind after that good luck to all
-
I do most of my hunting from the ground even with my bow have no trouble filling the freezer and I see deer every day. my sons and I make most sitting spots out of the things laying right in the woods along banks and piles of brush also we walk a lot looking over ridges and hollows you would be suprised where a deer can hide right in plainsight be safe have fun and good luck
-
Use a sharp stick a rock a 50cal what ever you feel like using the only good yote is a dead yote I have shot them with my PSE the 17hmr also 3006, 243 and 12 ga its all on what you want to do dont know what the hides are bringing this year if your tring to make a few $$$$ then the smaller calibers if not then use as big a gun or a rock you lol just be safe have fun and good luck

It is all on the hanging prosess the longer an animal hangs so the air around it is moving at 42degs or below if it is in a fridge a day or two is fine if in the open air 5or 6 days. I dont let any deer hang more then a week if its cool out. The ageing prosess is to yes break the tissue down but it also makes the flavor stronger and much more waste on the trim as some of you have stated we dont let pigs hang more then a two or three days and we have aged beef for up to 30 days in a controled USDA cooler I want the deer to cool out at least 12 hours with the hide off thats the first thing we do is get it skined much easyer with in the first few hours after the kill before boning it after 12 hours riger is gone and the meat fibers are relaxed so it cuts good and not much waste ( AS LONG AS IT IS 42DEGS R BELOW) if its 43 i get the hide off and after 8 or 9 hours i get it boned and in a cooler or a fridge for mabe up to a day or two I dont bag it i have totes that I store it in and also have an extra fridge in the man cave just for these things

Heres one for you I live in a small town in Delaware County we had 2 co's move in to an apartment just 100 yards from me they were the you are guilty to start of with kind of folks my sons and I were on our way back from a morning set stoped the truck to look at a few deer on a peice of land we could hunt my son jumped out to take his coat off as they drove at us from a mile away now mind you this is BOW season and the deer are 150 yards or more away pulled up in front of us lights and all flashing blocked the road made us get out of the truck had a look at every thing then started grilling us about some of the locals asking if we knew so and so where they hunted and things like that no reason for the lights and all the noise any ways long store short they spend 2 seasons in that apartment and only got one guy not even the ones they wanted -
Welcome hunt safe and have fun good luck

Shot placement is all it is I have hunted with most of the calibers in this post the remington 243 I use a hornady 100gr vmax the 7m08 same hornady my 270 , 308 and 3006 I use belive it or not I use 145 to 165gr remington corelock these rounds have never let me down I know there are alot of folks that love them BUT my least favorite one is my remington 308 seems as every time I have shot a deer with it they run weather its 50foot or 5miles they have ran just an old rednecks point of vue lol

in the 4o area we have places they let them lose and its like shooting fish in a barrel dont hunt them as I think they should let them go a lot earlyer in the year so they can move around. The two placeses they let them go are only 2 miles apart and they let alot of them lose at once and if its on the ground its down dont like it but thats the way it is

I have seen and shot most of my bucks right in the middle or some of the worst storms in 4o area if theres a storm comming im hunting every chance I can my wife thinks im nuts but if you kow the area you hunt you know where they are and the chase will go on even in some of the baddest weather just I have come face to face walking though the woods and bent over to walk under a low snow covered pine branch and there walking on the other side of the tree a nice 8 piont I think he scared me more then I scared him after about a 60 or 80 yard dash from him he stopped to look and see what spooked him gave me just the right time to put a 165 grain 270 piece of lead in him so just because the weathers bad dont think the deer are not moveing
