the only thing AR's are going to do is keep the big boy hunters happy the outlaws are still going to do what they do the government and DEC dont have a clue if they would follow the lead of some of the great hunting states from the mid west and make it manditory that a doe needs to be shot before you shot a buck and things along that line

the shop I had was a usda inspected shop and the deer would not fall under any of there specs as a matter of fact the deer had to be hung as so there was no way one could touch any thig else we had to hang plastic between the deer and other animals and could only cut them after hours and the inspecter had to look every thing over the next day to make sure there was no trace of deer on the cut floor but beware the guy that cuts out of his dirt floor shed might want to find some one that has a nice shop

If you want a good scope with out the cost of a Burris or big name brand the name is Center Point they are very durable and deadly I have them on 4 guns from the 17hmr to my 300 win mag they come in the 4to16 power in 50mm at aroud $70.00 per great deal for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have owned and ran meat packing plants (and cut ) my own deer it is my opinion that deer need to cool out for 24 hours in 38-42 temps then be prossessed the game taste is real strong bucks get even stronger the longer they hang the food they eat to the water they drink change the way they taste as for the 57 deg if it was in the sun the deer is going to be bad more then not if not in the sun you might luck out but its going to skin real hard hehe any way if you like the strong taste let them hang in a cool dry place for up to 15 days you will have alot of trimming to do if you dont want it so strong 24 hours will be great any way its your deer eat it as you like

I hunt 4o in allmost all towns and this has been the worst season in my almost 39 years of hunting

In the area were I hunt and live BEFORE any season started my sons and my self found 7 deer dead and 5 were shot in the head or neck I would think it might be car hits but all the ones shot were at the edge of fields and woods so poaching is heavy and not getting any better and now there leaving the bodys behind

-20 or 75 deg. my big a$$ is out there I find after a night like last 7deg.here in 4o they take a little longer to get moving this morning had to leave stand by 8:30 am no movement but 10:00am the woods were alive my sons came out about then saw alot of movement well 5 deer so i geuss thats alot for here lol

You really need to shot different loads and kinds to see what works best in your gun every one has there fav. But its all whet the gun likes some will hold bullseye but kick some wont kick but not hold true its all how you feel and what you can rely on try to find some one that reloads thats what I do and you can really fine tune a gun with reloads just always rember breath and squeaze not pull and jurk and good luck out there

In my almost 40 years of hunting I have never had a year that I have not shot at some thing BUT this year is a mess no shots and I only once put the scope to my eye the heat, the lack of deer, the yotes, and DEC . Are all to blame I have huntted my back side off this year spending days in stand and walking bow season was also bad there are not the farms to keep the deer on them the economy sucks and its not getting any better so now I have vented there is a big diffarence in the deer population then from days gone by BUT they are getting bigger in body and racks I have seen doe this year that would clear 200 lbs and some might go more so i under stand the whole thing but wow $100.00 for the license $30.00 a box for shells not to mention the fuel to get to the hunting grounds you have $200.00 invested before you pull the trigger some might think its better to go to the store and buy beef or pork and stay home where its warm ?????????

MY self and my boys will be offering our services to add to the list in the 4o and 4f areas we might need a hand from some of the new friends on here we have alot of yotes that need to get on the lead diet and we have alot of land to cover

As I walked from the stand this cold morning I shake my head in disgust this is the slowest and worst season in my hunting life 4o is like a ghost town the woods are empty as well as the freezer the amount of bucks I have seen can be counted on one hand and that is bow season included no doe tags for the hunters unless you own 50 plus acres so the 1000 acres I can hunt on I cant even shot a big doe and the land owners dont hunt so all these does will be there again and again the only good thing about the end of gun season is NOW the does will get some lead in there diet and Im going to fill every tag I can it is sad that it comes down to this but with the economy as it is there needs to be meat in the freezer there hehehe so good luck to all and get ye ol smoke pole out and give them he#$

The only thing its going to do is slow those two down for a day of two any one that will do that at midnight will do it again it wont matter how much the fine is the courts will give you all the time you need to pay and fine and if they have a good lawyer they will walk on it all so the only thing that will happen is 1 the report in the paper 2 the gun that was taken will be returned 3 there day in court no one will know about 4 they will get away with it with a slap on the hand so all it did was slow them down

Well two days to go before the ol smoke pole comes to the woods then there will be blood seen one spike this morning and about 12 mommas and babys going to get some work done then this pm back in the chase not holding much hope but going to go though the motions and see if any thing shotable comes past one thing for sure tuesday am large and brown is going down going to do my own thinning of the herd heheheh

Well al my new friends with the snow on the ground in 4o area yesterday was a bust am was a mess seen 3 doe 300 yards away and the pm hunt was a wash darn full moon was looking to this morning to be a good one BUT no the deer are still in he cave where they hide for hunting season hehehe lots of sigh not bodys to go with it the worst bow and gun season in my hunting life hope ML season gets them moving got 4 tags to fill so if its big and brown its going to be on the ground hunting EVERY DAY sun up to sun down no hold bar good luck to all

In 4o the deer are in good body shape when you see them the deer are getting bigger BUT you have to find them we have more probs with the yotes and people messing with the country side then the deer dec is really cracking down on the lowlifes shooting out of season and at night the trouble is they are allmost making life for the good hunters ruff with the ramdom stops and check points

Well that is it all yotes will die it is my new quest in life would not think it could happen but there it is in living color

4o has a lot of coyotes but they are smart the area I hunt you cant call them in you get them by chance . Even some of the trappers have a hard time with them I have been lucky in the last 2 years i have taken 2 with my bow 6 with the 243 and 1 with the ol smoke pole

The point is some do and some dont . It dosent make you a bad hunter .I have froze my a$$ off and got soaked to the bone for a stupid deer !!! I am one that will use every thing I can in the bag of tricks that is legal . THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TRICKS you have to out smart and out last them ..........

The same in 4o and 4f no ones seeing a thing and getting only ok bucks the big boys arent moving and the ladys are not looking for them WORST season in almost 40 years of hunting

Got mine dialed in and ready . Has any one used the new white pellets from triple seven ???? How did they work and did they hold a pattern ?

This season is a mess there are no deer moving in the 4o area ,and the week enders arent helping by shooting all the small deer the weather has been great for work no movement at all the ones that happen to get lucky are getting good bucks .I have not seen a buck in two weeks and the few does are not that big .This will go down in history as the only year in 40 plus of hunting ,That a tag will not get filled in gun .Lets hope ye oll smoke pole works its wonders next week. Freezer needs filling big brown and down week is coming and im filling them all .Good luck to all !!!!!!!!!

There are laws and then there are stupid laws (I say if it is a native food to the area what difference does it make if the apples are from the tree on the other side of the land or the salt lick is for the cows and the deer are licking it. The corn is still from the same place if its on the cob standing or picked and laying on the ground ) the government has ran the people over with STUPID LAWS I can see not putting some things out but come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to get back to the way life should be .
