  1. I like both my WGI cameras. I have the older 4 and the red 6. Once you adjust the angles in the woods/trails so that it picks up the movement at a longer perspective they seem to catch a lot more pictures. WGI has been great with customer service and if you call get a ticket number and send your defective camera in they send out a new one, mine took 2 weeks and they sent me the newer model.
  2. Just got in the stand, sunshine and little breeze
  3. I rushed out to the woods late this season, got into my stand hooked my harness up extremely quick and sat down. I watched for 5 minutes and felt if something was off, checked the harness, seat, etc. Finally it dawned on me that I left my Bow in the truck. Whoops.
  4. I put a lot of time in hunting, multiple stands, setting up trails, cameras and such. I've went days on end with out anything and then something pops up. That is part of the rush and fun! If you saw something every time you wouldn't have the same thrill. When I get frustrated I take a fews days off and usually get the "itch" to hunt again. I usually ask my father for advice when this happens and he always states its the hunt, the challenge and using your ability to out smart the deer and most importantly its that time away from everyone else, cell phones included. Think of it more as a "restore" for yourself. Stop pressuring yourself to see a deer and see everything else in the woods, chances are you'll end up seeing something. Good Luck and my apologizes Biggame if I said some of the same things of your post.
  5. Grow, sorry to hear that you are having that much trouble with the farmer. Keep us informed as this is something that I have been familiar with and have had concerns about since the farmer by us does the same thing. Sure does suck that you have to cut into your time and money to chase after this when it should be something that's controlled better by the farmer. Good Luck!
  6. Good lord that guy is a monster! I can't wait to read the story when you get him. Damn that is pretty.
  7. I always love hearing about the first archery kill, congrats! Did you post it in the harvest so that we don't hijack this thread?
  8. Man that's a nice deer! I hope you get a chance at it, would make an awesome trophy.
  9. Light breeze and comfortable. I really would like a deer tonight, too many hours in not to have something by now.
  10. I just wore out my Cabela's 2000 gram boots, the heel cracked open. I picked up a pair of field and streams to get me through until I can order a new pair online. My thoughts are maybe I should just got pick up a pair of Mucks. I hate it when boots wear out, now I have to break these in and keep them outside with pine needles to get rid of the new smell.
  11. Moon chart and rut cruise times are calling for more deer movement this afternoon. That thread has been surprisingly accurate for my season so far, worth taking a look at. This week the evening and night movements are supposed to switch to morning. I'll be back out this afternoon around 2, hope those who are in the stand see some movement.
  12. I'd trade my AR in an instant for a nice trap gun. It was fun to customize, fun to shoot but just not practical. The ammo is getting ridiculous in price and it's a pain to clean the mess steel rounds leave. I think you'd enjoy and use a trap gun a lot more than an AR, especially if you already regret the hipoint
  13. Brrr, 42* shoulda wore my jacket instead of long sleeve shirt. Saw a doe in the hay field when I walked in. Hopefully the cold has them moving earlier
  14. Feels like its been ages since last in the stand, nice day and a little breezy. Tons of new sign
  15. Have you ever paper tested your bow? It could be something other than the broad head. I like the idea someone posted about tying up the broad head so it didn't open and check that way. Could weigh the broad head and practice and see if they are the same too.
  16. That's good stuff right there! In my stand now trying not to lmao! Good luck to those who can get out tonight. Quiet so far by me.
  17. WNY check out a plant called jewel weed, I'm like you and avoid doctors. It's a really abundant plant that is always around poison ivy. You just grab a stalk and rub it on the area and it heals poison ivy in a few days. Google it, it's very helpful.
  18. A lot of deer out in the fields as I finish up my work day, just counted 18 in one field and saw a fawn still nursing momma. A rush to the stand now, keep you guys posted. Pressure is 30.13 and dropping here, so hopefully some more action when I get in the stand.
  19. Saw my #2 tonight as I was walking out across the creek, 10 yds away. I saw him through some scrub brush and after time. He spooked and stopped a few yards up the hill, hopefully he will be back. He is bigger than I thought. Real nice 8 but number one is a 10.
  20. Isn't that always the case, if you're deer hunting you see tons of squirrels. If you squirrel hunt you see deer. I've tried applying the squirrel hunting to my bow hunting but didn't ever help.
  21. Beautiful evening sit, seems right today.
  22. #2 stand first sit in this one all year, a lot of sign. Warm and no wind
