It seems like it's running a bit late around here too. I have a mixed bag of velvet and bare on the cameras now. I wish they tacked the extra week on the end of regular bow and pushed gun back a week, but that's just me.

Thanks for sharing your story, I always use my HSS Pro harness but I don't have a life line or prusik knot. Looks like I will be investing in one shortly. I bought a new tree stand this year and have an extra harness from it that came with relief straps incase of an emergency fall. I'm sure like myself, most of us never put thought into how we would get out of the harness if we ever did fall (I'll just cut it, yeah and fall 15') Great to hear that you are doing better and could share this story.

Doe, that's why I freshened last years post to kinda keep track of the corn cutting. The fields that were starting to brown are cut, some are still green. It's supposed to pour this weekend so I doubt it will get cut before then. That's good and bad news I think. Good because my stand is on the trail to the field so hopefully they'll continue using it but bad if they decide to spread manure and ruin everything.

How have you guys found the right mushrooms to get? I am always afraid of picking the wrong one even though it looks like a mushroom I am familiar with. I'd hate to die instantly or worse yet, trip into the 70's.

Seems like every year someone tries to back pedal after getting called out for feeding. It's always a newbie too. It's simple really, don't break the law and surely don't video/ picture share your actions. It's not that everyone is trying to be rude to you, it's foolish to condition a deer after many people put in hours upon hours. Take a moment and read the thread on food plots and pictures of people who legally put time into hunting. Why would you start off the thread saying you shook the apple tree and she came out, obviously it isn't a cornapple tree so don't lie. It's no different then when bear are baited, ring the bell its time for dinner. Get over it, thicken your skin. You got called out on something, you apologized now just stop fueling the fire. Read through the rest of the forum and learn from your lesson. This is a great site for information and hopefully you will be a better person for being a member of it. If not, well I guess that just shows your character.

Two days earlier this year than last! All of it was getting chopped up today, 3 fields were cut from morning 'til this afternoon. Those guys were hauling some serious a$$. Now the spot lights will be out in full force....

This guy was with a decent 6 chasing a fawn around. I have pictures of them both nose to the ground pushing the fawn, a doe showed up after a couple minutes and chased the bucks. This all happened between 745-815 AM yesterday by the apple trees. Last year I had a drop tine with 3 on the other antler, wonder if he got lucky last year and this is what we ended up with this year.

The antlers almost look like they're shedding still. This thing perplexes me! Partly wanna see if its going to get bigger but also want it to not breed. What else could cause this beside injury?

I suppose that will work well if you also have a commercial sub zero freezer hanging around in your house. I see where you're coming from, probably would work but I hate losing food and having to throw it out.

I'd be fearful of freezer burn, grinding is gonna create more moisture. When I went to culinary school they taught us once its out of the freezer and thawed, gotta use it or you'll lose it.

I haven't seen much for ticks either and I've been in some thick brush. I prefer not to see the little pains either. Mosquitoes and Black flies have been really bad this year though, looks like I'll be using the Thermacell this year.

3.5 YO, if he was older his legs would look shorter from a broader chest/stomach. He may look like sag in his back just from the angle and that he's stepping.

Last year I chased a 10 that ended up scoring 120 gross. My best friend shot it opening day of gun after I spent countless hours during bow. I ended up going "broke" I passed a nice 8 and a small 6.
