So who called you a poacher? So what's the story? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Baiting can e viewed as a more serious offense than poaching. When you poach, you are potentially harvesting one deer. When you bait, you are potentially spreading a disease that can kill many many deer, or in an extreme case, wipe out an entire herd. Just sayin X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Illegal is illegal. A site that harbors criminals and gives them praise will surely fail. This isn't the kind of site thy I would like to belong to, as I'm sure many feel the same way. That's why people speak up. We, as hunters, already have an uphill battle with the general public, don't need any law breakers amongst us. If you feel that he did nothing wrong, and even after pointing out to him that what he did was in fact illegal and he basically shrugged it off and went on the offensive to accuse others of doing the same(sounds familiar in your post too) then perhaps you and him should join a more illegal friendly site to share your common interests. He's very lucky no one on the site is serious enough to report him to the DEC, yet. Just sayin. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Although I don't agree with the unethical shooting displayed on this thread, no one is egging you on, you made a blanket statement that displayed your distaste with gun hunters. He probably just wanted to clarify the meaning of that statement before anyone jumped to conclusions. Now you're just backtracking realizing what a fool you made of yourself. Lets not even bring up you and ethics in the same sentence, I have a few references I'd not like to have to dig up. I'm sure you know which ones. It's a proven fact that all hunters and fishermen are smarter and more educated in the field than that of scientists that have spent their entire lives studying these animals.

Funny you mentioned, I thought you were the upstate hick I saw at the range today with the Pickup truck and no teeth, then I realized you were just poking fun. Let me put a in there for good measure. I was out today re-sighting in the bow. Learned a couple things and had a great time chatting with other archers. Had a great time meeting more experienced and beginner archers alike. Fixed a you get archers bow for him, an learned a few tips from the older folks. This is what it's all about for me, getting along with fellow hunters and sharing experiences from one generation to the next.

Larry, I drive a '93 Acura. Can't get older than that.

Suffolk allows rabbit hunting. If your neighbors give you permission within 500', you're good. You don't have to take them with a shotgun or bow in LI. I hear LI is great for rabbits, either by dog or by briar pants.

Not in NY and under different regs.

Ill bite. How do you want payment? -
No, you cannot get any left over tags until after Nov 1. If you are to shoot a doe, you'll need to use your bow tags or your regular season tag. Angle Fly has two parts, DEP and non DEP. I just gained access to the non DEP side, so now I can hunt the entire property.

It already sounds like you have plenty of their products.

Most arrows come uncut at a length of 32-31". Most shops will cut arrows. Some will charge $1 an arrow to cut.

Congrats. I picked up a used bow in the middle of October of last year, and started shooting it. I didn't think I would be ready to shoot a deer that season, but after shooting about 200-300 arrows, I felt confident enough to try to take a deer within 20 yards. We saw deer on the ground, but didn't have the opportunity to get close enough for a shot. Depending on how good of a shot you are, you may be good to go come opening day.

Sorry to hear, I'm a new parent this year, so I can somewhat relate. But I can't imagine what it'd be like without my wife helping out. Good luck to you and hope brighter days are ahead. -
Tough situation. You may have to apply for a 3S early on to satisfy the 15 days. My buddy an I got into Angle Fly this year, requirements are not as strict as the Westchester County Parks one.

I drive about an hr most of the time to shoot. It's not cheap either, I could spend 20-30 a day just on range time. There's two options in Queens and one in Brooklyn. There's Pro Lines in Ozone Park and also Queens Archery. I recommend Pro Lines as its an all day range fee, shoot from open to close, 20 yards max, indoor. Then there's Brooklyn, Floyd Bennett Field. Pay a yearly fee per car and have access to their archery range, outdoor. Bring your own targets, or use their beat up ones. $40 per year seems like the number. Hope you find something that works for you.

Broke a couple knocks over the weekend, definitely not fun.

Few years back, a woman was shot with an arrow in the Bronx. I recall it was an accident from someone practicing in their back yard as well.
