  5. I use my climber a lot on Li I had the viper classic LOVED IT super comfortable, but kinda heavy , very reliable never an issue in about 7 yrs. I wanted a newer lighter stand for longer walks my uncle who owns a ton of gear and many years hunting said his lone wolf hand climber while very light was also super uncomfortable. My wife just got me the summit bushmaster a lot lighter and still comfortable. I love summit products. My bro has a viper and my good friendly a goliath both also love it. Go summit.
  6. I'll be watching the sun set on my seasoning from the stand tomorow. Good luck everyone. Hopefully ill be hanging something.
  7. def dont transport on your quad i made my doe deke into a spike with old real antlers and had it on the back on my quad and local called the dec to report me taking a spike illegaly in an AR zone. Instead of talking like men.

Im looking to put in a few small 1/2 acre plots anyone in the area have any good places to rent machines brush mower or hogs, tillers, etc...?
  9. Is it ok to put the small seedlings that come from MDC in the 5' "vented tree tubes"? I figure if you put a seedling in the tube by the time it grows out of the top of that tube it has a good head start on browseing. http://www.plantra.com/buynow/bntreeshelterO.php Also the wild life packs from Wafler how tall are the trees when they are shipped?
  10. Just placed order for May. Eastern White Pine, Northern Red Oak, Blackgum, Persimmon, Blackberry, Hazelnut, Wild Plum, Black Cherry, Elderberry. From MDC plus going to order white cedar and crab apple from DEC seedling sale.
  11. I am closing thurs on a trailer on 2 acres a mile from my hunting property there is an old mature crab apple tree behind the trailer that looks like the ground is trampled around it but there is also about 3 dozen crabapples on the flat roof as of late nov. if they are still there on thurs how would you go about growing crabapples from seed? Just bury them or bring em home and use pots?
  12. #10 hahhah guess ill have to plant them by a diffrent stand looks like white cedar for the wet stand.
  13. What about a wet squishy stream bottom? Also my buddy who has alot of nice trees said bugs will kill them in a woods clearing so I was thinking about going with the wild appples or "toringo apples?" from saratoga seedling sale via DEC.
  14. Blew off today bc of the next long days and a few bad nights at work. Had to catch up on sleep hope everyone who went out did well. Ill be out monday am and either weds or thurs to finish up.
  15. I think I will call and speak to someone to hear from the horses mouth.
  16. oh I didnt know there was a whole other set of requirements. I always have bear on my property anyway until late oct when they clean the berries out but this year I will be planting more so your prob right.
  17. What areas have you guys hunted? Anyone ever look in to the Bear hunt?
  18. Has anyone ever taken advantage of the early opening season in New Jersey? Public Land? Suggestions?
  19. nice I think I will be trying this. Then you can plant seedlings in the ares you hinge cut for new growth.
  20. What kind of machines do you need for 3 small 1 acre food plot? I have a quad and access to a tractor. Can I use a walk behind tiller and a hand spreader?
  21. What knd of trees do you hinge cut? Any? I would think it would have to be a type with nutrional value. Is it designed for nutrition in the spring? All the trees are bare now.
  22. dont I was out today and will be again next week
  23. Just bought my brother the Moultrie M-80 from amazon new for 120 w/ tax. However the product description says it runs off of 4 or 8 aa batt. This will be the first of the new cameras in our retooling of our upstate property since I had my stealth cam stolen out east and my other broke. If it works well i might get one, but I am def getting a trophy cam for myself. I am also getting a few, prob 2 of those WGI 2 mp for the public land I hunt. (where my stealth cam was stolen) I guess I'll learn if it happens again it's just such a great tool for the off season if you are going to commit yourself all season to an area.
