Same here. It was a beautiful morning but now its clouding over again and they're calling for thunder storms later on. At least I finally got the grass cut today.
-
They both sound like great people. Congrats

I made a big pot of chicken soup with meatballs last night and I stopped and got a fresh loaf of Italian bread to go with it. Then I find out that everyone, except me, had plans around dinner time, so no one was home to eat it. Guess what they're having tonight.

Scent control: Getting dressed/ transporting/storing clothes
ants replied to Waldershrek's topic in Deer Hunting
I store my outer layers and boots in contractor grade trash bags. The real thick ones. I usually wear my base layers to my spot. Thats what I do when I hunt close to the house. When Im down at camp everything stays outside until I get dressed in the morning. If its real cold out I'll put everything in trash bags and bring them inside to warm up a little before I put them on. -
Hunting over or near a farmers field is the same as hunting over a pile of stuff you just poured out of a bag, that was processed in a factory specifically to attract deer to that one location. I don't get that at all. But thats just me.
-
Yup.. Its that simple. X bows are legal this year too. Start a poll about that, and the same thing will happen. People naturally debate. It is what it is.
-
Thats just the way it is…Everyone has opinions. Some people will pick apart everything you say and do. The more you bitch about it the worse it will get. Its happened to all of us.

Welcome to an opinion based forum kid……...

Sunny all day ….then about an hour ago….pouring…still coming down. The last week or so has been real wet. My daughters graduation party was Monday. It rained sideways all day. We had to use plan B and stay indoors. It still went very well. Lots of wet lately,,,,,

They're making money. End of story . The DEC would have to, not only follow customers, who buy the stuff, to their cars but follow them to their hunting spots and catch them baiting with it. Not going to happen & baiters know it. It is what it is. But hay… dumping a pile of "deer corn" out in front of your stand, in one big pile, is the same as hunting a growing corn field…..Right??? LOL!!! Freaking losers.

Just to clarify……I didn't cook it on the "GIRL" ..that would piss her right off…I meant GRILL>>>>
-
Made a venison roast on the girl the other day. Seasoned with dry rub, over night. Seared it on a hot grill & then wrapped it in foil and left it on the grill ar low/medium heat for about 2 hours. It fell right apart. Had it with roasted potatoes & fresh green beens. Good stuff. No left overs.

Are those old Pepsi bottles worth anything? I have 6 or 8 that my kid found on the local ATV/snowmobile trail. Some are twist offs, some are capped. Im thinking about tossing the things..sick of looking at them.

I talked to one of the Gander firearms guys last season. He told me that before the previous season the DEC came into the store and made them pull a bunch of that stuff off the shelves because it was obviously "Bait". I have no idea why there is obvious bait still on the shelves, but I have my $u$picioun$…...

I have to guess its a corporate decision. If the store is selling tons of the stuff, and I know that they are, then the high ups will make sure the store always has plenty to $ell. Their loophole is that these products can be fed to livestock and farm raised deer.

Thanks Pygmy…..Yeah, I just used garlic that I bought from a local farm stand. I believe it was grown right on that farm. It was real good garlic but It didn't grow well.
-
Thanks….I'll try it.

Do you wait until the cloves start to sprout a little??? My grandmother use to grow tons of it and I really never asked her how she did it. Too late now. I have put cloves in in the fall but not great results
-
Do you just plant individual cloves in the fall?

This afternoon I stopped into Gander mtn. to get some handgun ammo. On the way out I wandered over to the deer feed/seed section. In the center of the aisle there were piles of different feeds labeled "deer corn" "Buck block" and similar names. They all had pictures or drawings of deer on them, mostly huge bucks. All of them did . There was a sign perched on top of one of the piles of "Buck block" It had the D.E.C. section of law which states it is illegal to feed wild deer. Then under that it said that none of the products sold at GM are sold to be fed to wild deer, only livestock. LOL!! What a sad attempt at CYA!!

Ive woken up seeing sideways a few times….Lots of cold water and Gatorade helps…LOL!
-
Cool pics…I haven't been seeing them, this summer. I have a lot of flowers and usually see them.

Not too shabby

I doubt it will take 200 rounds for you to get use to your new rifle. Once its sighted in a box or two should be plenty, but by all means, fire it as much as it takes for you to have confidence in the rifle & your shooting ability.

Funny stuff!
