I deer hunted in Maine many years ago. One of the old timer guides use to say the same thing. LOL!!! He loved the 7mm Mag for deer.

I think Doc nailed it. Let these geniuses spend all that money, on deer surgery, and let them reap what they sew.

Why don't they try a deer abstinence program first??? It might be cheaper. If it doesn't work, then by all means the obvious answer is to perform surgery on every freaking doe in the area!!! Is that somehow sexist ???

Doesn't the T3 come with its own rings that mount right to the machined receiver ??

I have used Leupold rings and Weaver style bases for years, with zero problems.

I have an in ground. 15x34. If there was a way for me to remove it and have it installed at your place, I would do it free of charge. I would even throw in a bunch of rafts, beach balls and pool noodles!!! Pain in my A$$!!!!$$$!!!

My brother in law had them, big time, last year. One Saturday last summer we sat on his deck and shot 4, with a .22, in about an hour. He shot them all summer and this year he has just as many if not more…..He lives in the sticks and his place is surrounded by fields…but still.. those little bastards can be persistent pains in the AZZ!!!

I would order a new forearm from midway, Brownells or right from Remington. The drill job on that rifle is beyond a mess!!!…I would consult a good gun smith, but Im not sure if there is any hope for it. Good luck.

Smack em through the ribs….It will work just fine. I have lost meat to a lot of non magnum calibers including 12 Ga. slugs.

If it shoots good and you like it…use it. A lot of guys hunt deer with mag. calibers especially in open areas, like you mentioned.

Most likely the carb, due to it sitting too long with the crappy gas we now have to use. I would drain the tank & carb sediment bowl. Fill it up with fresh treated stuff. I use K-100 or Tri star. They both seem to work well. Spraying out the carb might help too. Good luck.

Good for you..Unfortunately there are tons of people out there who would watch a person, unknowingly drop money on the ground, and then wait for the person to walk away so that they can take it and even brag about it…I think the technical term for such a person is "scum bag".

Year round season around here…At least half the bungees I own are ones I found LOL!!

I have to have over a dozen different (good) tools that I have found , on the side of, or in the middle of the road. Not to mention tie down straps, rope, bungee cords and a brand new 25' tow chain. I stopped for a pair of chest waders once…but they didn't make it.

I learned that once you say to your self " I think I can get just a little closer"... stop and sit the hell down. Of course I learned this years ago and continue to ignore it way too often...

If you current turkey barrel only has a bead sight, you may want to invest in a slug barrel, or better yet just drill & tap your receiver ( if it isn't already) and mount a decent scope to it. Then just go with what ever slug compatible choke tube you want, IC or rifled tube…...
