It's just my opinion. If a person has a tag to kill a deer and does so, and then decides to kill a deer and just leave it where it lays or just ditch it somewhere..... Then I call BS. That person, in my opinion, is not a hunter, but more likely an attention whore. In a lot of cases He/she wants to be thought of as some bad ass, great white hunter who wants to prove him/her self by how many kills they stack up. Wasting a deer makes no sense to me.

Yup..there are hunters who harvest deer for the challenge and for the meat, and there are stone cold losers who just kill deer. Big difference IMHO

Aaaahhh no, I mean as long as a person is not just killing deer to say that they killed deer, and they really want the meat, then they should shoot what ever they want on their own tags. How many hunter here think that its "all about the bragging rights"???????? Chime in if you do......

I have no problem with someone filling "their tags" the way they want. I personally will wait for a buck. But if the freezer is low and I want meat ?? Doe ..spike...scrub rack.. what ever. I'll take it on "my tag" I know a few guys who will shoot a doe, first thing on opening day, just as fast as they would shoot a big buck. Good for them. As long as your not just stacking up deer, for bragging rights, I have no problem with someone shooting what they want.

I just shoot one pin out to 30yrds. I hold a little high out to 40 but doubt I would take a shot that long.

I went back to face paint a couple years ago. The masks bug me. they slip down too close to my eyes, get smelly and I lose them.

Yeah..some of the newer scopes,like the Pro Staff are actually shorter than the older ones. There is a one piece extended base available for that rifle. It's about $50.00. The base will let you move the rings closer together & should solve the problem. I think it's a Weaver #48347 .Check on line or locale gun shops...Good luck.

You mean that the scope does not have enough room to move forward or backwards ? or the scope tube is too big to seat inside of the rings because the bell is hitting???

Gander in Cicero had a ton of .308 Winchester Power Point 180 grn, on Monday but I haven't been in there since. If you find any .308 I would say grab what you can and sight in for that load....

Rage are great broad heads. I can't believe the holes they make. I have a quiver full of the regular 2 blades and maybe another 1 or 2 laying around . Once I shoot them I might look at the Hypodermics .......as long as they aren't too pricey I will give them a try. If they are on the pricey side (which I think they will be) ....I will stick with the standards.

I had a Savage 99 in 300 savage. It was made in 1951 and it was beautiful ! I Sold it, back in the day, and I wish I never did. If I had kept it I could trade it in on a 338 Lapua. That would be an awesome deer gun. LOL!!!

The 300 Sav. kind of died out because of the popularity of the 308 Win. The 300 Sav. is still a REAL good deer round. the 300 Savage, 30-30 Win. 35Rem. 32 Win Spc. are not junk just because Magnums have so much more power and range. Magnums win every time, at longer ranges, but those older rounds still work very....very well out to 150 to 200+ yards, and they do it in smaller, lighter handier rifles.
