  1. PBR is our hunting camp beer of choice. Ice cold it is good stuff!! A tad on the warm side???? Not the best. I know an ex-cop who was assigned to be Paul Newman's Bodyguard, when he was in Syracuse filming the movie "Slap Shop", back in the 1970's. Newman only drank PBR and called it "F-ng good beer" LOL!! If its good enough for Butch Cassidy (or was he the Sundance Kid??) It makes ya wonder

    WY Mounts Back

Why not use the same caliber for both??
  3. Yeah.. I have two 700's circa 1977 and a 1986-88 Both excellent rifles. If I were to buy a new one I would go for a higher end, wood stocked ADL or BDL but I've read some favorable reviews on the 783. Not great but very good. For someone on a real tight budget this thing might be the way to go.
  4. If anyone is in the market….I was in GM and they have Remington 783 rifles on sale for $269.99 with a $40.00 rebate. I have heard mixed reviews on that rifle but in the end they seem pretty reliable and accurate and $229.99 isn't too bad.
  5. Glad it was something simple & cheap. I once spent a week thinking I needed some major engine work over what turned out to be bad plug wires. In the end I think it ended up only costing me about 100 bucks or so, PHHHEEEW!
  6. Screw it……Buy a Nissan Titan…If you can find one……LOL!!!!
  7. Cool video.. I go with turkey vulture. The sound that thing was making is down right CREEPY>>>>WOW!
  8. My neighbor uses mouse traps.I use my swimming pool. I fished 2 out this morning. Between the 2 of us we must kill 25-30 every summer and they just keep coming, I tried the grub killer in the past but it didn't seem to help one bit.. Good luck.
  9. What it all boils down to is do the police have the right to confiscate a persons firearms over a petty dispute, which somehow led to the police being called. I vote no.
  10. I wouldn't blame you if you never returned to this site again. Even if it was just to give an arrogant little jab from the shadows..…….It must have been hard for you...
  11. Its all in fun and the list is sad but true BUT……….. Only in Canada would a comedian be arrogant enough to mock the one nation that makes it possible for Canada to have an annual defense budget of around 12 dollars, and keeps Canada from being invaded by a Girl Scout troop !! See…its all in fun LOL!!
  12. Rained all night, just a light mist now. Its suppose to let up during the day. The wife has been harping on me to get that stink'n pool open but the weather hasn't been cooperating…Let it rain indeed!!!
  13. A/C was on 2 days ago,,,tonight the girls had me get the fireplace going……….nuts
  14. The red dot I used was only like 2x. I Would watch the bird until I knew he was in range and then sight down the gun. Same as I do with open sights.
  15. Took a ride at around 2:30 and there were turkey in a few different fields. Some good looking toms too….Oh well.
  16. My gun had a front bead and a rear adjustable sight. The rear sight was made of thin metal. Two florescent dots. It was cheaply made and cheesy. It would move left or right if the wind blew too hard on it. I had to constantly check it in the field. I finally pulled it off last week and tossed it. The front florescent bead works fine all by itself.
  17. The farm down the road was using its watering system on a couple fields Friday. They'll be glad to put it away for a while.
  18. Got up this morning and the weather looked like something out of a disaster movie…..My season ended at 4:15 this morning.
  19. Drill and tap is the way to go. Its a much more secure, reliable base. I had a truglo red dot on my turkey gun for a couple years. It worked well but not that much better than the florescent front bead and I didn't like the bulk it added to the gun.
  20. I wouldn't worry about it.
