The stuff I used did not hurt the mature trees in any way. It literally wiped out dense mats of poison ivy and other herbaceous shrubs. Check all label directions before you buy/spray.

Most hardware stores carry some sort of "Poison Ivy & Tough Brush Killer" in a concentrated form for spraying large areas. Try it....it works!

This ain't your Grampa's 30-30!

Another ugly gun to capture the "black gun" entusiasts. I'll take Grandpa's Winchester 94. -
If I were in the market for a new .243, I'd go with a Remington Model Seven CDL.

THE GREAT HEALTH CARE DEBATE..
Early replied to sits in trees's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
sits in trees makes a very good point: Overall health care costs in America have skyrocketed as so many of our elderly citizens have turned "doctoring" into the new national pastime! Thinking, "It's covered by my insurance...therefore I should do it...or take it", they spend far more time at the doc's office or the pharmacy than is really needed. This obviously puts a drain on health care resources...costs way more than it should...and ultimately deprives others of care. Doctors...health care providers of all sorts...are busy "writing business" and treating/prescribing procedures/drugs that are not needed. As you grow older, do not allow them to "give you the business!" -
THE GREAT HEALTH CARE DEBATE..

You may be right Grouse...but such a ruling will be purely political. The Court has lost all interest in doing what is right. (Kinda like all you other Obama haters!) -

Most likely...if the govt. works true-to-form, our Medicare premiums will go UP! -

Entitlement??......This is a good word to forget...since it is so often misused. If we could stay out of all the ill-advised wars we are engaged in, and eliminate or drastically reduce the amount we spend on foreign, we could easily take care of our own. Yes....from cradle to grave, if necessary. Scary to learn that there are so many heartless among us! -

Posts like this are great...for identiying the uncaring bastards who suck whatever they can from our society but wish to give nothing to nobody! We would be better off without them! -

Mike G....and similar "scrooges"...those who decry any form of govt. assistance to the less fortunated...To you I say, when you have removed yourself from the govt. teat...and have paid back everything you have ever received from the govt...and agree to never more receive anything in the way of govt. service...then, and only then, will I listen to you. But, that will never happen, will it? Remember, those who take from the govt...including you, MIke...should not fault the govt. for giving to others!!! -
THE GREAT HEALTH CARE DEBATE..
Early replied to sits in trees's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Universal health care for all Americans can be nothing other than a good thing. Right now, I pay for all my health care. I would gladly reduce my own coverage to help care for someone who cannot afford insurance. As far as the mandate goes, we already have that with car insurance. Sure, such a mandate benefits the insurance companies the most, but if it helps some of our less fortunate...that's good! (But, we still need to crack down on the insurance companies!!!) As far as the Supreme Court goes....They have shown, with the strip search bit, that they are nothing but a bunch of political hacks. Shame on them for acting in such an Un-American fashion! We need to come up with a system for getting rid of Supreme Court judges. This "Judge for Life" is nonsense! In a Great Society...which we surely are, or should be...the fortunate shall take care of the unfortunate. If you disagree....you are a Scrooge! -
Thanks for the offer (I'm in the Capital District), but this thing...without quite a bit of work...is not a shooter. It will most likely end up being a wall ornament.

Actually...to escape your dillema...You should give both guns to me, and start over!

Interesting....DEC, et. al. would have you believe that fishermen wading in felt soled boots caused this problem. I doubt it...The west branch has been running too high/fast to wade for several years. So....???

Great experience. That old mouse squeak works great: I have called a fox in to 3 yards (My grandson said later, "I could count his whiskers!")...and a coyote repeatedly (4x) to 5 yds. With good camo and no wind, you can call them up close.

Thanks....I also did a little searching: Yes, it is E over LG (One source says that's an Austrian proof mark.) Even with a magnifying glass, I can find no star (another source suggests that would mean Belgian). So, I guess it is either...or!! I had not encountered the source you provided re: reloading tools. Thanks for that. I did discover several such tools on Ebay....Appears my whole kit is only worth around $60 +/-. I'll carry it to the next gun show. Thanks again for your help, Early

Not sure about Cannonsville, but the Pepacton Reservoir is low. Releases for the upcoming summer season may be less than in the past. You may have to get used to less water than last year. Whatever....Good fishing, Early

Wow.....Good for you! I struck out!

She's thinking...."Puhleeze, green head...give it up; you ain't getting any!"
-
First: no camera...no know-how = no pictures...sorry! Second: I went back and looked at this old stuff again. Obviously the gun and the reloading tools do not go together. (Reloading tools for a muzzle loader???) The gun does have one mark on top of the barrel (on the octagonal portion): a small quarter inch oval, with what looks like L over LG inside it. The powder/shot measure in the reloading kit is marked on the bottom: BGI Company Pat. Feb 25, 1890 Thoughts??

I was recently given a muzzle loading shotgun (caplock) that appears to be 32 ga. (??), along with the reloading tools that go with it. The stock is cracked near the lock...the lock is somewhat defective (hammer cocks, but will not stay cocked). I cannot find any writing of any kind on the gun or the reloading tools. Any idea what something like this might be worth? Thanks, Early

Where are you in Delaware County?

I suffered a similar problem way back in college: I'd walk into a bar, gaze around the room, checking out the chicks until I settled on the hottest blonde.....Then I would come unhinged: I drooled...couldn't talk straight...made a complete fool of myself.
