Well, today was a fitting climax to the 2010 regular season for me. Hoping that the rain would not be to bad, I looked outside only to see it raining sideways. I checked the forecast and hunting today for me is a washout. Looking forward to to the ML season, having the ability to take a few days off from work to pick the right day. Just hope the deer cooperate.

One would think that the DECALS system would provide the DEC with the ability to release some actual results ( in real time) to the public on the 2010 deer kill based upon the number of hunter (up 5%). I for one would like to see the actual reporting data. We could argue later on how this data is interpreted by the DEC to extrapolate the overall deer kill in 2010.

Hunted California Hill today, Dr. Wost was to my left. No action at all and no shots. Did not see a deer despite several hunters pushing the woods in the pm. Hunting conditions were perfect. Back at it again tomorrow despite the rain forecast.

Down here in the southern zone (Putnam Co. etc.) the weather forecast for the weekend is calling for increasing clouds Saturday and for heavy rain for Sunday. Hopefully with the approaching front the deer will be on the move. I wish it would snow!

What you portray is a rosy picture. How about posting some photos of what can go wrong and the potential consequences of such mishaps. Clearly, the process of this type of drilling does not come without potential risks and irreversible effects to groundwater supplies.

With all due respect, your fertilizer analogy is too simplistic. What many are concerned about is what the effect of fracking will have on the potable water aquifer. There are no guarantees that the future water resources contained in the aquifers will not be affected by such gas drilling methods. The DEC should be complimented on proceeding cautiously with regards to gas drilling via fracking methods in NY State. The gas producers and leasers to such companies are concerned only with financial gains and could care less about anything or anyone else.

Proficiency testing would undoubtedly eliminate a majority of hunters; to include both and gun hunters and further decrease the number of hunters buying licenses. The DEC would then have a management problem of an unimaginable magnitude.

I have one of those also. It is way to cramped and is noisy.

I have seen it all,nevertheless the season is not over for the Jets and hope springs eternal. Bring on the fish!
