  1. not me. I come here because I love your avatar.
  2. I find tv quite boring. I was just typing because I do not see the posts of the original poster, so I was not sure what was being discussed. That being said, I am going to go do some reloading
  3. what am I commenting on? I am assuming it is about a tv show. I do not watch much television.
  4. sometimes less is better. If ti si loose powder, I would back down to 90 and work my way up in 5 grain increments. Loose powder 120 grains in equivalent to 150 of pellets.
  5. life is full of trade offs. Oh well
  6. weigh two or three charges before coming up with your base starting point. There is a conversion for bh209. 100 grains by volume is 70 grains by weight.
  7. I find the biggest enjoyment from mentoring a young or old first time hunter and seeing the joy in their eyes when they harvest something.
  8. hmm here in the north Archery starts 9/27. We seem to survive the heat waves that occur in late September/early October.
  9. I almost stepped on one Wednesday evening when I took my 4 wheeler over to camp. I walked back to check out the sugar beet plot and there was a doe running around. She left came back and left again. Anyway I walked the edge of the plot and went to leave. When I turned around about 3 feet from me, there was the fawn laying there in the grass. It never moved a muscle. I took a couple pics with the phone cam, which sucks, and left. I would guess maybe 2 weeks old or so.
  10. they work fine. After I weigh a charge, I pour it in the tube and it comes to the line every time. I would however think filling a measure and leveling it off would be easier.
  11. ok makes sense. I weigh all of mine on my lyman dps. I just did not want you thinking 70 by volume was 70 by weight which is 100 grains. Good shooting by the way. Nothing like an encore. And IMHO which is based on about 35 years of muzzleloading, BH 209 is all they which includes me is all we claim it to be. I use 100 grains in my 45 encore with a 40 cal 200 grain xtp in a harvestor sabot. Deadly accurate as well as deadly on deer. You will be hooked I am sure.
  12. WNY I was reading and got a bit confused. Are you measuring the loads in a measure? If so are you measuring out 70 grains in the measure? I only ask because the 70 grain load mentioned by BH 209 id a weighed charge of 70 grains = 100 by volume. If you are only measuring 70 grains, you are only shooting 70 grains. That will work well, but your down range will be limited. Forgive me if I am confused.
  13. I would not hesitate to buy another either. I continue to have good luck with them.
  14. nah it was an inheritance from my uncle. When his grandson gets old enough, it will be his.
  15. I have a 742 semi in 30-06. It sits and collects dust.
  16. you are entitled to your opinion. I use a rifle for how it functions, not how pretty others think it is.
  17. sure if you want it. I am again going to say as has been said. Maybe your bullet selection wasn't the best. I use Nosler partition 115 grain bullets. I shot an 8 point 197 pound buck at 80 yards. He dropped in his tracks. I also have shot a 143 pound doe at 167 yards she fell in a pile. The longest one was a 6 point I shot double lung. He stood there like he was not even hit. He took a few steps as I reloaded as I use a single shot encore. As I brought the gun back up he wobbled and fell over walking maybe 10 yards. Not saying it is the miracle caliber. In fact I usually use a 7-08 now because there are bears where I hunt now and it is legal to shoot them in the area I hunt now. I do not think the 25-06 is an ideal bear caliber. Bit that being said, I do not need an elephant caliber to take one out either.
