ok one place you say you are not saying gun hunters are bad and in the next you say they are bad and a sub culture. Which one do you want to stand by? That is the exact mind set what will happen if made mandatory. Just trains hunters if it is not orange it is ok. Granted this time the shot was at a deer. a deer lying in a cart moving on its side. Well to me that would make me think wait a minute something is not right here.

As I have said before send the cops to my house. Again I will explain for you. You said you shoot a deer and if I were gutting it the next morning theret would be words. I do not need the deer you could not kill quickly and humanely to end up in my freezer. if anything I would tell you it was there and move on. High horse. If you are intentionally setting in the stand after LEGAL hours to shoot a deer that is 100 percent not wounded you are poaching and stealing a deer that someone else may have had a chance to get the next day if you had not stole it by hunting illegally. pretty simple huh. As far as the safe act goes you may want to look in your history books to see what you do when a law is unconstitutional and infringes upon the rights of the citizens. I would explain it to you, but you would not get it right anyway. Personally I could not care less what the hours are. Guys like you will still bend them. If it is a half hour before, you will use 45 minutes etc.

Ok so my thought. Not sure how far it is from your home to your brothers. But if you can not ride in a vehicle without a drink, better rethink how things are going. Plus I am willing to bet with some under your belt the ability not to give attitude was diminished. Do not drink in a vehicle period. Not the cops fault you broke the law.

As usual the intent of my post went right over your head. you said you do not steal. My response and i will break it down for you if you stay and intentionally hunt after hours, you are poaching. And poaching equals stealing a deer someone may have gotten the next day hunting legally. your tangent about me taking your deer the next day is hilarious. i do not need your screw ups to fill my freezer.

I have two grown daughters one 23 one 26. Both college educated (and indoctrinated) Well my youngest used to hunt with me and loved going to the range. Then she found boys and drank the koolaid after going to college. She got married in September. Yesterday she called me and asked what the process is to get a handgun permit. She also said she wants to dust off her guns and get out again to shoot and hunt. Then she went on about the 2nd amendment, but I will not go into that again. I guess two years of me preaching did wear off. She also told me she voted for the first time this year as did her new husband. This sounds like we live miles apart, but the truth is she lives across the street. With different work schedules, I rarely see her. I am looking forward to getting her back to the range as well as her getting a handgun permit and doing more hunting. I said to her that just solved something that I was concerned about. No one else in my family has a handgun permit. Now I know where mine will go in the future. Made me proud to see her want to take up the shooting and hunting sports again.

actually if you stay and shoot a deer after legal hours you are poaching. Poaching means you are illegally stealing a deer someone else who hunts legally may have gotten the next day. So in fact yes you do steal.

I would challenge anyone who thinks that statewide ar is the answer to come and hunt where I do. I get a dmp every 4 or 5 years as preference points are needed. So far this year I have seen 3 deer 2 does and a fawn. it is very easy to say let the small bucks go and stick a doe, if you can get a handful of dmp's to do so. Then you get the crowd who is also against planting a plot or two to keep the deer in the area and you get called a baiter. Anyone who wants to come and show me how it is done, come on up. You can stay at camp for free, I will feed you and hunt away. Just a bunch of armchair quarterbacks. I personally have never cared about covering my wall with antlers just to stroke my ego. I would take a large bodied 6 over a smaller bodies 8 anytime.

Actually NY is among the safest states in terms of shooting incidents. You are much more likely to injured climbing in and out of your tree stand. And the larger number of incidents are during turkey hunting season than deer season. Just the facts..

How does one pinpoint the rut to its exact start and stop time? Charlie could be close but to say he hits it exactly every year is kind of a stretch. I mean how do you know exactly when it starts. Besides to be technical this is the pre rut. the chase time. The actual rut is about 36-48 hours when the does are ready to be bred and then the bucks hang up with the does and wait.

In my county st lawrence we took a 10-5 republican majority in our county legislature, which has been dem controlled for over 10 years. we sent a 3 term incumbent safe act lover packing in the assembly. Our county overwhelmingly voted for Astorino. I guess getting out the past two years getting the word out as I was told I was wasting my time. too bad more did not do the same. But I guess donating money was good enough.
