Follow up question. What is everyone's definition of ethics. Not a Websters definition but in your own words.

Once the class is filled, they remove them from the site to avoid everyone calling and asking to get in after it is full. Was it inline registration? if so you should have to print out your registration form to present at the class to prove you registered. Just thinking it might be lying around.

Asking an ethics question is like asking what caliber is the best. Everyone has their own opinions. Personally, I would have made a call to DEC and followed their instructions. Lots of times at least around here, they will take the deer and donate it to the food bank. I know a guy who rolled up on a car deer accident and the deer way laying there in obvious pain. He put it out of its misery beside the road.and got tickets for doing so. They was an attempt to take his pistol permit. Hours in court and lots of attorney fees, he was acquitted. But it still cost him a lot. The laws are in place for a reason. Not to hang a guy like this, but for every guy who does the right thing, there are 4 who do not and try to pass it of on a story. There were also a couple guys here who had 9 car deer accidents in about two months. An old beat up reinforced bumper truck. They were doing it intentionally. They got a had full of tickets too. Now If it were me, I would keep it quiet and go forth. .

Oh I have standards but I have to lower them to my neighbors. Then you have no standards. Standards is passing a buck that does not meet them. I passed a decent 6 one year because it was not what I wanted. A half hour later my neighbor shot him. If he was happy I was happy. But to be greedy and compromise what you say is your standards is hypocritical. Then to attack others for saying that is at best lame. You say he is on your hit list but does not meet your standards. are you seeing the silliness in what you are saying yet? Ok so he does not meet your standards, but you will shoot him anyway to keep the neighbors from getting him. Sounds like your standards are ok to shoot a small deer too. So there is no difference. I found a local station that has non ethanol gas. It is all Iuse in everything but my truck. A little more expensive, but they start run and no problems.

I would have used a crossbow for sure. I used and still use a recurve. I agree that the days of a traditional weapon season are long gone. i still use a sidelock and a flint lock during the special seasons. I think that since a crossbow is old school, I would have used one.

I wonder how many of these honest law abiding deer hunters stay in the stand and hunt after legal hours? That is cheating also. Are we picking and choosing which laws are ok to break? I personally would not waste the time to bait. I prefer to put in my time and scout. I do plant plots. some of those are harvested for my cattle for feed for the winter. The deer also share them. I also plant plots for the deer and turkeys. I do not hunt over the plots, as the deer pattern that also. The most of my activity is after legal shooting hours in my plots. I use other tactics to get them.

Besides griping about it on the internet, what do you do? I know the answer, but would like you to say it, even though you will not. The answer is nothing but gripe.

I did it today and donated 50 bucks to als also. Why not. One of the ladies I nominated had done so already and donated to the als also. So she said she would donate 25 bucks in my name to honor flight. So I told her I would match that also. When I see her this weekend I will give her a check too.
