2nd week of November chase starts here on the land around my house, though last yr I saw bucks fighting and seeking doe during the 1st week of gun during the 3rd week of November. So I love Charles, I have all his books, he is a decent and Godly man but you cant predict what nature is going to do. If I was a betting man I would say be in the woods from Oct 25 to Nov 25 th and you will probably find a buck looking for a doe. Ive even seen bucks chasing doe around and around at the end of December.

Also make sure its a single cam, Some double cam bows are some what easier to tune but single cams are much better! I have used hoyt in the past but had to have the limbs replaced twice for cracks as well as two of my friends who shot hoyts so I went to a single cam Pearson bow which I used for 11 yrs. Short brace height short bow made for a finiky bow. Hard to tune and all around nightmare. Finally plopped down the money on the PSE bow madness which I think is pretty much the same as an PSE evo now. Its a higher end PSE and will cost ya but I can give most Mathews shooters a run for there money with it.

My roomate for 4 yrs was a former president of the Broome county mushroom club. So I learned all the good ones from him that are unmistakable from the bad ones. Morels, pinkys, hens, trumpets, sulfer shelf and giant puff ball are all pretty easy to distinguish and are the choicest of the edibles to me. I dont mess with any thing else. If you find someone who knows what they are doing its alot of fun and good eats. But your right if you do not know what you are doing dont touch anything, VERY BAD THINGS CAN HAPPEN!! I love field mushrooms ( pretty much same thing as the small white ones you get from store ) But there are a few nasty ones that if you arent carefull can be confused with field mushrooms. So I dont pick them at all.

Besides his baiting there isnt much I can find that I dont agree with about the guy. Though I was watching a recent concert on TV with him and his music is much lamer than I remember.

I have blocked off all logging roads leading up the hill from the main trail at the bottom of the hill with chains on the property I hunt. Got tired of people not listening and driving thier 4 wheelers past me while im hunting. I told the locals they could walk the bottom trail and ride 4 wheelers down that trail but not to go up the hill. Wouldnt you guess I have over the last 4 yrs killed 3 deer off that bottom trail coming down off the mnt. So yeah it sucks they were tresspassing but it wont ruin your hunting. Deer will go where they want to go not where you want them to go. I would be more worried about the pumpkin army tresspassing they will run your deer herd into the next county.

With the rain we had lately I got out to yesterday to look over my Chantrele patches yesterday. Ended up with about 50. No where near what I have got the last few yrs. But is to be expected with the lack of rain lately. Now that it is raining I hope the sulfer shelf and black trumpets start to pop up to.

Holy crap if I ever had a record of $40,000 in purchases from Gander I would never get to use any bonus bucks. My wife would murder me Dead. D.E.A.D!!!!

My mom was born in france and use to eat it all the time as a child. She called a local butcher here to see if they had horse meat and they hung up on her!

Oats are good but unless you plant alot they will mow it right down and from my experiance they do not handle over grazing. Rye on the other hand does. But with all the plots and stuff you have going I dont see them over grazing oats.

Finally got enough rain Friday to wet things down a bit. Then soakers every day after that so now im getting into the kill plot mood. Will be planting rye and brassicas in the next few weeks. Weather looks good with 4 days next week with good rain.

Baiting Does works!!!!!! I set up my feeder, and filled it with corn and a week later I caught these fawns on my cam and they had sprouted antlers!!!!!!

Actually, probably couldnt have happened in a better yr. Being that an election is coming up. If I remember right a few yrs ago the Dems got their as--s handed to them in an election and it was attributed to their assault on gun liberties during the Clinton , I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Presidency. Im sure they remember that pretty well, if not they are dumber than I thought.

So thats how you get bucks on cam during the summer I have had my cam out since January and havent seen one horn on it. Getting a big bag of corn today!!! Just kidding by the way!

I think it would be a real pain to hike in to the ADK to look for your cams I took my cam and hung it up by the creek, got some nice trails coming down to the water so hope to get some pics of bucks. I saw a bachelor group of bucks in a field up the road about a mile from where I hung the cam and all three were 3.5 or 4.5 yr old deer. Biggest racks ive seen in yrs and the bodies to match. They let me watch them for about 5 min from the road before they scampered back into the woods. And this was at 1:00pm. Dont know why they were out in the middle of the afternoon but I appreciate it.
