  1. Also it will make people stop and count not just rattle of five shots and leave gut shot and legless deer strewn around the woods. Might have a hunting accident free yr for once if people have to count points. Unfortunatelly it could have an adverse affect on the doe population like they have seen in some areas of PA. Some hunters are going to shoot more does and fawns to make up for the empty buck tags. Which is good but unsustainable in the long run. Might see an even worse population crash in some areas due to the im going to get mine attitudes of some hunters.
  2. Nice bucks!!!! Im afraid the racks in my area are going to be stunted this yr. We havent had a good rain in over a month and everything is brown. My ponds I dug by hand are empty and all the vegitation in the understory is wilted and brown. I havent checked on oaks yet but earlier they were loaded with acorns. I hope the drought doesnt make them fall off. Without the oaks production this year my hunting will be meager. No apples, fields are brown and dry, to dry to plant food plots, Creaks and small streams are dried up. not going to be good around here if we dont get rain soon..
  3. Nice concept but not really one based on reality IMO. What do you do if all the 6 and above are killed in the 1st week of gun? Youll waste the rest of the season hunting for something that isnt there. I would rather the spikes and 4 s were shot leaving less tags unfilled and less hunters in the woods that might accidentally shoot one of the big boys Ive been watching all summer. Just IMO.
  4. Sweet deal, there is nothing more satisfying than shooting a deer with a recurve. You could go even lighter than 45#s to. I killed my first 3 deer with a 35# bear kodiak recurve that my dad got when he was 14.
  5. Geez that was dissapointing Bubba!! I was expecting an mushroom cloud and got a fire cracker!!
  6. Cool article that might help. http://www.qdma.com/...ody-proportions
  7. It was either the deer or some really dissapointed pot heads.
  8. I see they make them now that run on C02 tanks. You just push a button and they cock themselves. http://www.parkerbows.com/crossbows.html?action=detail&detailsku=1109
  9. Whats your doe situation like? If your over run with deer that could be a problem also. High populations can be detrimental to antler growth. But the bucks seem to be pretty healthy.
  10. Nice deer!! If your looking to put meat on the table pull the trigger on him and dont look back! If your looking to put bone on the wall give him time and he might suprise you. Ive read several stories of bucks that jumped from 100 right to 150's from 3.5 to 4.5 yrs so basically whatever makes you happy. But once you pull the trigger you will never know.
  11. Long skinny neck, long face, long legs, fat belly, young deer eating good is all i see. the 2nd deer in the back ground of the 2nd pic would definately get dropped though. Short face, heavy neck, decent tine lenght and spread.
  12. Geeze I didnt know people still used shotguns during deer season! Ive used the T/C now for the last 5 yrs and an older inline before that. Spend about 40$ for 100 rounds of 777, 20$ for a box of hollowpoints and sabots.5$ for a box of inline primers, and 30 on asorted cleaning supplies and that will last you about 3 yrs unless you do alot of practicing.
  13. I find my sightings more than double when there is a bumper crop of acorns. The property I hunt is covered with oaks and no matter where I hang the stand I can count on a bear walking through feeding when the Corns are fallin. I even had 2 within 40 yrds of either side of my stand one day. I wish someone would shoot them on the neighboring properties because they are getting bad. Only problem is they just opened it up within the last few yrs and no one knows what to do with them once you shoot them.
  14. Was just down wading around the suckyhanna river this weekend behind Home Depot in Johnson city. Water was a black color, full of soap suds, and smelled like raw sewage. And low and behold there wasnt one protester down there protesting the quality of the water. huh. So when you people from below vestal take a shower tonight just think about all the filth you just had in your mouth. Are you sure your local water treatment plant used the correct amount of chemicals to clean that nasty water?

  16. I got tired of asking the same people not to ride the trails from October thru Dec that I finally just ropped off all access points to the land and put up no ATV signs. Some people just think they are entitled to use your property to ride ATVs. I dont get it, if you do not own land then why do you own an ATV? I had one guy who I continually for a yr asked him not to hunt our property. The next yr he built a wooden ladder stand out of treated lumber right in the middle of the property. I asked my wifes uncle if it was suppose to be there and he said heck no take it down. So I pushed it over and cut it up and piled it up. He never came over the line again. But now he has 5 ladderstands right across on his side of the signs. Which is fine as long as he stays on his side and keeps them pointed on his side. Funny thing is he owns 600 acres and for some reason thinks all the deer are on our 168 acres? And when I first started hunting there I asked him if I could hunt across onto his property and he said no? i think some people are just strange!
  17. 7s is over run with bear. Get atleast 10 pics everytime I change cards. Cant really tell but guess there are several different bears. I run into them all the time while hunting and they have cost me several shots on deer and one even followed me back to my car. They are constantly on my porch and trying to get into my garbage. I HATE BEARS!!!
  18. Young deer even if they are the same deer. If he lives 2 more yrs you will def. see what kind of potential he has.
  19. From Roberts himself!! The chief justice, while he may take heat from his conservative peers for the ruling, said the decision on the wisdom of the law will ultimately be left to the voters. "We do not consider whether the act embodies sound policies," he wrote. "That judgment is entrusted to the nation's elected leaders." Roberts went on to say the court's role is to interpret the law, not make policy judgments which is for lawmakers "who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices." Now lets see if this wakes up Americans or not. If the government can tell you that you have to have insurance what else can they cram up your arse!! And I gaurantee they are getting the biggest bottel of KY ready as I write this!!!
  20. Contempt Charges!!!! Now we got a party!!! GRINNNN.
  21. I would think he would burn more wood because the fire is always going. Got to take into account also that he was burning spruce or some kind of pine also which I beleive burns faster and not as efficient as hard woood http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/wood-combustion-heat-d_372.html, plus its his cooking stove also. Also you have to take into account its cold from August to April, though from what Ive seen, I dont think hes there that long.
  22. We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names liberty and tyranny.” -Abraham Lincoln (Basler 403
  23. Norman Thomas, leader of the Socialist Party of America and American socialist candidate for President, in a 1944 speech said, “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” (“The day socialism comes to America.”)
  24. During the days of Joseph Stalin’s rule over Russia, in a Marxist experiment, he made an unforgettable point in front of his henchmen. Stalin said nothing, but he clutched a nearby chicken, holding it with one hand and plucking each feather off of the chicken with the other. When he was done, he set the featherless, fear-crazed chicken on the floor, with some bread crumbs in his hand he walked away. The chicken quickly raced over to him warming itself against Stalin’s pant leg. Then Stalin gave the chicken some bread crumbs and walked to the other side of the room and the chicken repeated its actions. Then Stalin said, “This is the way to rule the people. Did you see how that chicken followed me for food, even though I had caused it such torture? People are like that chicken. If you inflict inordinate pain on them they will follow you for food the rest of their lives.” (Zacharias 26-27) The American people will get what they deserve.
  25. I have a friend who use to have relatives who lived in Bradford county PA. He said 40 yrs ago he can remember people lighting the water coming from the faucets on fire. It was what they did for fun I guess. So when you hear of people saying their wells were polluted by fracking it may not have been. The wells in some of these areas have never been drinkable from the time they were installed yrs ago. I think Its just more class warfare being instigated by activist envionmentalists. Some people are making a ton of money on this and the have nots are the ones who seem to be making the most fuss. If they were truly worried about water quality then they would be gathering at the sewer treatment plant across from SUNY Binghamton every day to protest. They have been pumping straight sewage into the Susquehanna river for probably the last 10 yrs with approval of the DEC. Also at the confluance of the Chenango and Susquehanna river there is raw sewage coming out of a pipe there also from the good city folk of Binghamton. So while the environmentalists are at the forum protesting fracking. The dump they just took is floating around in the susquehanna. I would probably care a little more about what they said if they werent such hipocrites.
