I dont think he was a felon, but the victims familys filed a suit against them non the less. I dont know what happened in the end but they just had a rough time of it. Spooky thing, my manager at the time had interviewed the guy for a job in my dept and had passed on him for another person. He had the interview sheet and everything with the dudes name and stuff on it. I told him to keep it some sick sob will probably pay good money for it down the line.

20 yrs ago if you saw a bear it was a big deal, now they are like rats. I friggen hate em. Been readin up on bear hunting and what to do with one once its been shot. This yr the first one that walks by alone is getting an arrow or slug from the muzzleloader. All I have to hunt if hardwoods, which I beleive is why I am having a hard time finding the bucks They are all in the fields up the road. Though my dad peaked my interest the other day when he said he had a nice buck walk across his back yrd the other day. I pulled my cam down tonight and had about 60 pics of does and fawns. So Im either going to put it at my dads where he has 2 small ponds or down at a local creek where I can hunt and recently cleared a tree for my climber. I really need a 2nd cam !

Shoot we had 3 deer gone before march. Freezers empty!! Saw a fawn struggling in the ditch today after being hit by a car and was actually contmplating hitting it with a hammer and asking the sheriff for a tag for it!!

Hunting isnt about helping the deer herd in NY its about filling the freezer, silly NYANTLER. Hunters are no longer conservationists they are exterminators,sent by an under funded arm of the government of NY who couldnt game manage there way out of a paper bag and are yrs behind the rest of the country in even basic game management.

Well alot of you are going to have to shoot doe soon any how, you smell that AR's are coming!!! Stir, stir, stir!!!

Been moving the cam around 2 different propertys since I got it in January, Got the doe movement nailed down pretty tight. Now if I could just find them pesky bucks I would be getting somewhere.Like to shoot my bow everyday, though I only get to about twice a week, that will pick up with cooler weather. Been draggin my new climber around the woods goin up and down trees clearing out future stand sights with info from last yr incase they get stupid and do it agian this yr. Still have to get out and hang my hang on stands ( note to self buy more screw in steps ) will probably be doing that in the next few weeks. Next up in August will be planting my kill plots rain permitting. Need to restock with muzzleloader supplies and start shooting along with the 30/06. How many months left? Not enough!!

Kind of defeats the purpouse of a rifled barrel though doesnt it? Also accuracy cannot be very good with the rifleings fighting each other?

Dang those plots are massive. Seems like it would be hard to get anything big to come to a plot of that size before dark. What kind of luck do you have hunting the edges of them? or do you go back into the woods? Around here rye is all they get so they gobble it up.

Thanks guys! Im trying to find mature bucks but I only get doe. I keep moving it into thicker and thicker areas but now all im getting is bear. I guess ill just keep moving it till we get some good rain and I can get my hunting plots in. then Ill just watch them to see whats up.

Legal under NY state law so dosnt bother me. I dont think I have ever seen a 2inch spiker before though.

I dont shoot anything unless its a good size 8. How good a size 8 depends on the yr the deer are having but usually they have to have atleast a 16inch spread or bigger. I prefer bigger so AR's really dont bother me. But I would rather you shot a spike than any of the bigger bucks im watching. Though my wife has banned me from shooting big bucks ( yeah right ) after the shoe leather I brought home last yr. Crock potted a rump roast for 8 hrs and still couldnt eat it. Ended up grinding him up for sausage ( note to self get electric grinder ). I hunt in a high hunter area and do not have a problem finding a good buck to kill every yr. on land a bunch of people are pounding even though they say there are no bucks there I was still able to pass up 16 different bucks before killing a nice 8 point last yr. And for the last 4 consecutive yrs as far as that gos. So I just smile and nod when people say there arent any bucks around. If AR's come then good, maybe I can pass on 30 deer then, but if they dont come no biggy. Your success will come with how much time and effort you put into the hunt anyhow.

Anyone have any info on the Tomkins County focus areas yet? I am very interested in being able to take 2 doe a day and hunt for them in Jan. also. I wonder when they will spill the beans on this?

I usually put my cam up on the 1st of the month and collect the card and change batteries and move to another location at the end of the month. Is this to long in one spot or is that about right?

Yeah bowhunting oct 1st. Nothing like being eaten alive by mosquitos and feelin the sweat run down your back as your sitting in your stand. It'll be just like when I was hunting down in Alabama.

You do not want to kill big bucks!!! Kill the first 3 point that comes along, leave the big bucks for me. Thankyou for your support! AR's do not make big racks ( Im talking B+C racks ) they make older bucks, and more bucks that will survive the season. You may or may not have a bummer season the first yr of implementation but it would only get better after that. My wifes cousins own 100 acreas in PA.The last 5 yrs they have all ( all 6 of them ) harvested 8 points. Two were in the 130's. I asked them what they thought about AR and they said at first they were mad because they werent seeing any results for the first few yrs. Then they said it was like a switch was turned on and there were bucks everywhere.
